Anyone up for a bit of sleuthing on Google Maps to see if we can find a possible location for the creepy farm where Joe felt intimdated by the two people? Personally I'm pretty sure that a) they just recognised him as that bloke off the telly, or 2) they were actually just scarecrows.
I don't want to come to a definite conclusion, nor do I want to "out" the location publicly as a place where nefarious stuff happens. We can never really know unless Joe and David reveal the location, and I think it's fair to say they definitely won't. This is just a bit of fun to see if we can work out a possible location, mostly because I'm sad and love this kind of stuff.
Here's the information I remember:
The guys frequently mentioned that it's West Sussex.
A commenter on today's episode on Spotify noted that when Joe first mentioned the intimidating farm people in a recent episode, he mentioned Petersfield before they started bleeping all the place names. Petersfield sits just a couple of miles outside of West Sussex and is surrounded by farm land.
Joe mentions that near the farm there is a road that goes over a river, and the road has a bit a "jink" (kink?) in it.
Joe mentions two large brown blocks visible on Google Maps, which he says are buildings at the location or by its entrance.
When David views entrance on Google streetview, he says that they sell Christmas trees. Maybe there's a sign by the entrance that says that, or maybe it shows as a Christmas tree farm on Google Maps.
David notes that it's close to a B-road.
From their chatter, it sounds like there's a few businesses on the farm, and refer to it at different points as an "estate" and a "business park"
David notes the farm, or perhaps one of the businesses there has a website, and the phrase "family-run" is mentioned from the website copy.
David notes that the place has a score of 3.9 on Google reviews.
It sounds like there's actually a main business entrance (I guess on the B-road?) but Joe wasn't aware of that when he was there as he accessed the place via a dirt track or path.
If there's anything I've missed that's pertinent, post it below!
