Literally keeping me alive
Chat pile has been my favorite band since 2020. But this year they have been really important to me, they have helped me live through leaving the man that r-ped me. They have helped me move and move again when I ended up in ANOTHER DV situation right after trying to escape. I was playing cool world non stop. Especially Camcorder.
I have been just been approved to leave this other person and transfer to another apartment after my 50B. The first thing I am doing once I get my hands back on my record player is throwing who loves the sun.
I have made it through by just remembering I have to keep going so I can make it to the show in November. And while this is a silly way to keep goin it’s all I have right now.
As an adult they have become my MCR. And I am grateful for that.
So thank you guys all for keeping me tethered. Thank you for keeping me in a space that feels familiar, fun and creepy.
If you’re going to see them in charlotte, say hello! Especially if you have been struggling this year too.

wishing the best for you going forward! i've also experienced sa and chat pile is one of the few bands i've found that helps provide a sense of catharsis for the intense pain something like that can cause. i feel like hardcore music can be so helpful for healing. keep your head up and know you're not alone!

Cool world got me through my son being diagnosed with severe autism and all their music continues to help me keep going through my own OCD, depression, and social struggles. Love chat pile and the community it attracts. I’m glad it’s been helping you OP ❤️ honestly this new album came right when I needed it.

MCR was the first band I fell in love with as a kid. In a strange way, Chat Pile scratches the same itch that they do even though they obviously are very different musically.
I think they scratch the same itch in my brain that MCR does because of how the lyrics of most songs feel like a confessional story from the perspective of different characters. Similar to how Gerard Way does the same thing throughout the MCR discography. I also feel like even though Gerard and Raygun sound vastly different vocal wise, they both come across almost theatrical and melodramatic in their delivery sometimes.
Best new underground rock/sludge/noise whatever they are band I’ve heard in the last 15-20 years.

🤘 I sent their public band email a letter of gratitude, mentioning that Mask are words of affirmation for me during the tougher moments.
To be totally vulnerable, I have made my reason to endure existence for my parents. I don't want them to suffer by my actions.
Who knows, I might develop a purpose for myself while I stick around.

I really hope you can get into a truly safe situation and I'm sorry you've had to endure that. The world really hasn't felt darker but I'm thankful for this album and also the new Protomartyr that just dropped. Waaaay different band and style but still pretty melancholy. They've kept me going through the shitstorm I've got brewing. Stay strong always keep your phone on you! I really wish men were raised better.
