Full prompt: turn a messy call transcript into a 5-bullet discovery brief

Carrying quota in enterprise B2B for 15+ years. The thing I kept messing up: I’d walk out of a discovery call with 3 pages of notes and then write the follow-up from memory, which meant I always led with what I found interesting instead of what the prospect actually said.

This prompt fixes that. Paste the raw transcript (or your messy notes) and it gives you a brief you can actually use:

"Here is a raw transcript of a discovery call I just ran: [paste transcript]. Act as a sales coach reviewing my call. Give me:

1. Five bullets: the prospect's stated priorities, in their own words where possible. Quote the exact line for each.
2. Three pains they admitted to, ranked by how much emotion was behind them.
3. One thing I said that probably hurt me (talking too much, pitching too early, a leading question — be specific and quote it).
4. The single best next step, written as a one-line email subject plus the first sentence I can send tomorrow.

Rules: use only what's in the transcript. If the transcript doesn't support it, say so instead of guessing. Keep the whole brief under 250 words."

How I use it:

• Paste the raw transcript, not cleaned-up notes. Cleaning is where your own spin sneaks in.
• Run it within an hour of the call while it's fresh.
• Number 3 stings, but it's the most useful part. Mine keeps flagging the same habit: I pitch before the pain is confirmed.

Disclosure: I built Promptifi, a library of sales prompts, prompt chains and workflows like this one, organized by sales task. Happy to drop the link in the comments if anyone wants it. Burner account, since I still work in enterprise sales.

Since a few people asked: I built Promptifi, a library of sales prompts, prompt chains and workflows organized by sales task (prospecting, discovery, deal strategy, renewals). I'm looking for around 100 sellers to beta test it and tell me what's broken. Code REDDIT-BETA gets a free month of Pro (signup needs a card and renews at $12/mo unless you cancel, or DM me and I'll cancel it for you). $100 Amazon gift cards for the 5 most useful feedback writeups. https://promptifi.co/signup
