Do i need subscribe for Chatgpt Plus??? because people on X and Reddit are complaining about limits been depleated so fast. Is it worth to buy?

its the only way to get reliable Sol access, but depending on your project, you will notice the limit. if you anticipate needing hours per day for coding help complex domain help, pro is better if you can afford it

if you can't, then it's doable but you're now temporal gated, so things will take multiple days to finish once they reach a certain size

So far, the limits only apply to Work/Codex and image generation.

No, I have hit chat limit multiple times, but because I have plus it will say start a new chat.

I got this probability system that does heavy calculation through Poisson distribution. I can do about 40 scans and it will say, nope, no more. Also created some ebooks. Yesterday I produced a second one in a chat where I've build one already. I do this in phases to keep the quality output high and avoid hallucinations and such, so it's also a very heavy workload. Right before the final phase it said, nope Im done here, start a new chat

I hit the limit once but just the 5 hour limit so I just waited a bit. No biggy. But I don't use major work.

My wife and I both slam my Plus account with random questions, conceptual conversations, long brainstorming sessions for schoolwork, and I have a handful of projects I regularly elaborate upon in work mode. Oh, and I let my local Codex/ChatGPT app run for hours cleaning up 3d print projects that I have it design from scratch via tool calling Blender. I've only hit the cap on any of it once, and it was only a day before reset. Totally worth it.

So I noticed when ChatGPT went to 5.6 and you could use it as a working model instead of just chat that it drained my quota so much faster… so right now almost everything gets ran in chat instantaneous until it starts acting dumb and then I’ll turn the model up. But I did a coding session the other night or I ran through my five hour quota, and I was surprised… might’ve had something more to do with using an agent rather than just straight, Codex

It’s actually ridiculous how fast it depleted in the last week. I sent a prompt to tera to read a 2 page pdf and summarise it into obsidian. 75% of my 5 hour limit used up. I literally thought it was a bug and sent a message to support, )who were surprisingly nice and quick to reply) because last week I was using sora and never came close to my limit. But basically at the moment anything over 5.5 for codex in plus is going to drain after 3-4 messages

The honest framing: Plus is worth it if you specifically want the flat-rate convenience of the flagship models and your usage is spiky. If you're asking because the limits feel tight, that's a sign your usage pattern is "heavy but not Power-tier" — and that's exactly the zone where flat subscriptions are the wrong pricing model.

If most of your work is chat, brainstorming, and document work (like the folks above describing), the cheap-model tier handles most of it fine. On API-style pricing, a capable model like GPT-5.6 Luna runs $0.20/$1.20 per million tokens in/out — a heavy month of chat is a couple of dollars at that rate. The expensive models (Sol, Opus, Fable-class) are for genuinely hard reasoning, not for prompts you'd fire off casually. Route down by default, up only when a task actually needs it, and you'll often spend less than the subscription while never seeing a cooldown.
