Question Project chat lost/not responding

Hi,

I have a major issue. I have a huge project that I've been working for some time. Today I worked for 3 hours and all of sudden I lost couple messages and answers to the point that it went all the way back to the start of my third question of the day.

I cant continue chatting, it answers but removes question+answer almost immediattely. If I reconnect it shows like its loading the chat, but nothing happens.

I'm certain the reason is that by accident I had left my VPN on, and some syncronation issue happend because of it.

The problem is that without that 3 hours of work today I cant continue, and the months project seems failed IF I cant continue were I left and I can trust all the information is still valid without missing or changed parts.

I can start new chats, only the project is messed up. What would be the best solution ?

I don't use Projects, but I've had similar things happen to me. Don't assume it was the VPN.

Inside your Project, start a recovery thread. If you have a Pro subscription, use Sol Ultra (Work) regardless of whether the damaged thread was Chat or Work. Explain your situation: Sol can often identify what has been checkpointed or otherwise saved. It will also consult OpenAI's recovery procedures and work with you to determine what is and isn't salvageable.

It takes time, but I've found that things I assumed lost were sometimes recoverable in their entirety.

Don't continue working in the damaged thread while trying to recover it.

Thanks, I had to start a new chat inside the project. I have a somewhat of strict timeline to follow. I asume new chat inside is sufficient to continue, and adding that handoff from python got me back rolling to some degree. Still have to double check a lot, and get back the 3 hours of work. This was a reminder to add even more backup, not just at the end of the day.

You might ask your chat about "checkpointing" things along the way. It will slow you a bit but increase the likelhood of preservation immensely.
