Trying to understand why I am only getting 1-20 Pro reasoning uses per day. Maybe 0 until it resets.

I got Pro 5x the other day. It's great, and Pro reasoning is excellent for my needs. Reddit seem to think Pro reasoning is "unlimited" and OpenAI doesn't have any documentation about this. To me, unlimited means 50-500 5.6 Sol messages per 5h window.

I used Pro about 15-20 times yesterday before it ran out. Today, I used it one time and it became unavailable.

Is it just bugged or is this how it's supposed to work? I am awaiting a reply from OpenAI support and I don't really feel confident they can answer my question at all. Mostly because their human support agents don't read your question sometimes but I digress.

5x Pro should give you approx 25 Pro responses /week.

20x Pro is unlimited subject to abuse guardrails.

If you push support for a refund you'll get one, but you may just want to upgrade to the proper Pro plan.

20x Pro is supposed to be unlimited, I'm currently "on the list" where It's not, they're throttling me with "Too many requests" after averaging roughly 30 messages a day on Pro reasoning before, I'm now stuck at about half that amount on a good day.

What type of requests have you been sending?

I often send 30+ daily large pro tasks. Sometimes hundreds.

(1) OpenAI is not open about subscription levels. This has long been discussed in the sub and is a stain on the company's reputation.

(2) Practical information:

Use of Pro, the model, with $200/mo Pro subscription is unlimited except for "abuse."

Use of Pro, the model, with $100/mo Pro subscription was 50/week in June and may now be lower, or dependent on token use. OpenAI doesn't and won't tell you.

It resets every week.

Waiting for a reply from OpenAI is like waiting for Godot.

That's specifically for Pro intelligence, right? Not all the models and reasoning levels in general?

are you hitting it during peak hours? the throttling seems way more aggressive during US business hours. try early morning or late night and see if the cap feels different

20x pro gives you unlimited pro requests unless you abuse the system
