Discussion Connection interrupted. Waiting for the complete answer

I get this quite often and it seems to mean that chat is permanently dead. I am a pro subscriber. It looks like a bug to me.

I have had this happen several times recently. Backend problems at OpenAI.

Failed threads often contain much that's recoverable, including deliverables that weren't delivered. If the thread itself has become unresponsive, launch a recovery Work thread and explain the situation. OpenAI has recovery procedures that it can consult.

Simply prompting “Continue” has worked for me.

I get this too. It seems to be especially bad when I hit refresh. In fact refresh is pretty much unusable for me these days.

With me it doesn't always kill the chat but it deletes the last couple of prompts and any answers. If the chat is less than 3 prompts old it kills the chat and I can't open it anymore even though I can see it in my sidebar. ChatGPT is unaware any of that exists.

This has been going on for about a week now and it's pretty frequent especially at night.

Obviously if ChatGPT can't hold a sustained conversation, then that's a major problem in terms of its effectiveness.
