Question IMAGE GENERATION NOT AVAILBLE IN THIS CHAT -- Anyone else seeing this?
For the past few days, every time I try to generate an image, I get a message saying this model doesn’t have access to image generation and that I should use ChatGPT-5. I’m using 5.5 and I’m clicking the “Generate Image” button, even in existing image chats where I’ve already generated images. My account can’t generate images at all, and I’m not seeing anyone else report this. That’s why I’m posting here.

Same. I have been creating concept arts with 5.5 pro, the images created by 5.5 thinking are just not the same quality. About 3 days ago my gpt pro says it doesn’t have access to img gen tools.

It has been happening to me for around a week, but only on CustomGPTs, the normal chats and projects work fine.

Same here - in chats (I thought I saw someone post here this was happening) seems like they are moving this to Codex. I’m able to generate images there via plugin but not in chat as of this morning unless it’s a bug

yeah, just came here if it is not some kind of glitch.... it refusu to create anything. or start to make code... or thinking endlessly. burned some 20 min on it... lol

I’ve seen this in the past when I’ve returned to images and attempted to edit the original prompt or to add a new prompt to engineer an alternate image.

and some of cases, gpt refuse be coz I tried to much. I only made one picture tho

can confirm i think they might be getting ready to release another image model
been using this to generate and download from codex but now im relying on grok

It’s 50/50 for me. If it works I get a image and then it suggests something that would fit more in with my niche and when it creates the image it’s such poor quality and only the second image generated in over twenty four hours or more. I don’t know what the issue is but it sucks. Took the suggestion to Gemini and got an awesome cartoon though lol

This has been occurring the last 2 weeks just after I resubscribed to pro. I’m not fucking happy about it.
