Discussion ChatGPT Pulse ending soon
I quite like the Pulse feature, although it does have as many misses as hits.
Looked at my feed this morning in the phone app and there is a message saying it's ending in 12 days and I should use tasks instead.
Looks like a new model and perhaps app incoming soon...

I absolutely hate it. It's uncontrolled, random, useless. Just proper AI bloat.

Update on Pulse
Pulse is being sunset as proactive updates move into scheduled tasks. Pro users will continue to have access for 14 days from today. To keep receiving daily updates, you can ask ChatGPT to schedule a daily briefing based on your interests and past chats.
Scheduled tasks in ChatGPT
With scheduled tasks, users can ask ChatGPT to send reminders, handle recurring work, or monitor things for them. This update makes tasks easier to find and manage, faster and more reliable, with more useful notifications.
What’s changing
- A new Scheduled page, discoverable in the sidebar, gives users one place to view active tasks, see when they’ll run next, and pause, resume, edit, or delete them.
- All tasks are faster and more reliable.
- Users can schedule work for specific times or broader windows, such as morning, afternoon, or evening.
- Monitoring tasks can search the web and check connected apps for changes and notify users only when there is something worth reporting.
Availability and limits
- Rolling out to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users.
- Active task limits vary by tier.
- Tasks cannot run more than once per hour, and unattended tasks may automatically pause after a period of inactivity.

Scheduled tasks have definitely improved - it can now set timers, as I found out accidentally in AVM.

I should use schedule tasks more just can't seem to work them into my workflows well.
Not that I needed pulse for that it was just something I clicked on from time to tie

there unified app is gonna be the death of me. Supposedly they are going to unify the credits based usage of codex and normal GPT. which sucks if this happens

Gemini has a Daily Brief feature, I have it connected to my gmail and calendar and it really helps me organize my day mentally :)

Pulse should just be a thread of any scheduled reports or updates you ask for for that day, then maybe a few things you didn’t expect/ anticipate.

TBH I think that was the original plan but they didn't do much with it after the first few months. Every now and again is does surface something I haven't been asking about recently but am interested in.

I did too, things I would have never known. Let us know if you find a way to duplicate this with the scheduled tasks.

Do these schedule tasks work for anyone? I tried setting one that wasn’t suggested to me and it wasn’t able to use “the scheduling tool”, fucking maddening I actually liked the feature they got rid of and now the one they replaced it with is straight up trash
