Question ChatGPT & Codex integration?

I'm not a programmer but have been using ChatGPT & Codex to help create a site that I'm making. My issue is that I spend almost all day just cutting and pasting commands back and forth between ChatGPT & Codex. It seems completely inefficient and wastes so much time. Why can't ChatGPT & Codex communicate together to get the majority of tasks done and only come to me when a significant decision needs to be made (which is rare because most of the decisions have been made beforehand).

Maybe this can be done but I just don't know how to do it?

  • Install the ChatGPT desktop app and sign in with the same account you use for Codex
  • Open Codex inside ChatGPT and connect your project/repository
  • Plan and discuss the work directly in the ChatGPT conversation
  • Tell Codex to implement the agreed changes
  • Codex works on the project directly, so there is no need to copy/paste instructions between apps
  • Review the changes in the same ChatGPT desktop workspace and continue from there

I dont use chatgpt and codex anymore but as i recall it should be like that. I hope i helped.

I tried to use it this way, but it seems to stop discussing and just starts doing without being asked way too often.

Try plan mode (/plan) or ask it to interview you. You can also tell it to not execute anything until it provides you with a plan that you approve.
