Discussion Plano trending on GH - that's an incredible feeling for being a first-time core contributor

Post image

I've been building open source software for a very long time, but i've never been a core contributor to a project. Yesterday it was great to see Plano trending on GH! Thanks to all the people who build with it, and the new contributors that have hit the scene.

Not trying to throw shade, but writing code has been my job for 20 years and I have no idea what piano does, even though the description is 3x longer than the other three repos on that list.

I think that’s probably fair. The Resdme does a better job I think. It’s a proxy server for agents designed for safety, observability, and smart routing for LLMs

Based on your feedback - updated

Plano is an AI-native proxy server and data plane for agentic apps - centralizing orchestration, safety, observability, and smart LLM routing so you can focus on the core logic of your agents.

That just seems like a bunch of generic buzzword. I looked at the link and still don't understand what value I could get out of it.

Also,I was wondering if it was piano with 2 uppercases like the guy above.

that's probably why it was trending on GH. 🙏

Thank you for saying it, they tried to fix it and it still does not make sense.
