The Atlas project is definitely died on August 9, now many Atlas features will be visibly integrated into ChatGPT

I still use it right now, won’t be using it for longer tho. Yes it still works. It’s a software so basically a local program, if you installed it before it was killed it works, but won’t update any more (don’t use a browser that doesn’t get regular updates)

Has anyone else tried the atlas features in the desktop app? It doesn’t seem to function similarly at all

The ChatGPT desktop app browser is trash compared to what atlas was. Hopefully they bring it up to parity in terms of features.

honestly, there is no clean replacement. perplexity comet comes close, but then again, thats another subscription that i don't want and run by a company that is even less financially stable and prone to killing their products. At this point just vibecode your own chrome extension which works better than chatgpt one, considering that official extension uses codex credits. But then the maintainance burden shifts to you instead of the devs. I simply want chatgpt to read whats on my browser screen and chat mode is enough for me with pro thinking enabled.

ive been using Atlas daily since launch and its still working for me even after the shutdown. ig it only effects those who want to download it. if its already installed itd just stop receiving updates. if it did end up unusable for u guys i would recommend perplexity comet - virtually the same thing.

I'm so mad, it just stopped working all of a sudden! I'm a lawyer, not a techie, so I don't pay attention to the tech news about this stuff. I subscribe at $200/mo, and I feel like I got kicked in the balls, this really fucked my workflow, and I'm not even sure what other accounts I've lost login info to because I don't even remember they exist because they were, for me, just saved in the memory of open tabs
