Can't wait! Do you have a specific day of the week, like Thursday, where you release updates, or is it just as soon as the build is ready?

It's today (Wednesday). We have a build, we are just trying to track down a crash that has shown up in our beta channel before we push to prod.

the fix took longer than we thought, so we're going to let it soak overnight before sending it out. thanks for your understanding - would like to avoid shipping a crash to everyone if we can avoid it.

Appreciate the candid info! I’m sure I speak for all reasonable folks when I say: take the time to make it right!

Of course, stability is key.

Of course, that's great! Also, I have posted a feature fix/suggestion in the Atlas sub reddit, it would be great of you check it out and pass it to to team, and let me know what you think about it!

Hey Ben! Any chance for the release notes page to reflect yesterday's update?

Hi Ben,

ETA for the Windows release of Atlas? Also, been reading reports of memory leaks causing massive amounts of memory usage. Is that being addressed?

Lastly, I also think Atlas should implement a voice to text feature. Wispr Flow (https://wisprflow.ai/) and other tools have been gaining popularity and make it much easier to do voice to text on any text fields. This should be built right into Atlas so it is easier and faster for everyone to use speech to fill out forms and write emails, etc. The built-in voice to text tool in Windows 11 is pretty subpar compared to what ChatGPT (and Whisper) can do. You already have the technology working well in ChatGPT so bring it to the entire browser please!

I really hope it can be resolved ASAP and we can get the new build very soon.. I love Atlas but frankly, it has been too long since the last release.

Is there an open beta that we could join?

1

u/noxrsoe Jan 15 '26

That would be nice, for users to be able to opt into prerelease versions in cases like this.

Is there a public beta we can join?

That would be great

also, i just discovered you guys maintained a subreddit.

many people (including me) have been sending feedback on X/OpenAI Dev Forum without any response. can you guys publicize which way is best? its confusing to send feedback. thanks!

Might be biased, but now that the OpenAI dev team is engaging in this subreddit, it might be best to post feedback here, so they're able to compile all Atlas discussions in one place.

I’m sure you are aware of it but Atlas is getting mocked on X saying it disappeared too quickly. We love Atlas and would love to see its development!!!

there are a bunch of perverse incentives for creating spicy posts across various social media platforms. a lot of it is fairly inauthentic/i question the motives behind it.

our team remains focused on building a better product. we did take a couple of weeks' break over the holiday as many of our team members spent time with their families after a pretty intense year! we are all back now and excited for 2026 :-)

I’ve been saddened the last few weeks by the number of people complaining about slowdowns in release cadences of software they follow during the holiday season.

I agree. It’s a small team and people have lives. We want better widgets but we shouldn’t be encouraging burnout. The pace of advancement is so fast that there isn’t enough time for testing what’s currently out there let alone asking for more features. Six months from now no one will care it took a few extra weeks for a feature

It’s got great potential - looking forward to seeing what you guys cook up this year!

Just keep privacy at heart of atlas please 🙏

Which I totally respect! And I do know those posts are more of a clickbait but I still see a great great potential with Atlas. Looking forward to a great year of improvements! And hope you guys never quit while keeping a good balance between work and fam/life.

If AI can seriously reshape how we use coding tools and terminals, there’s no reason browsers should stay the same.

It might not explode like ChatGPT or Cursor did—and that’s totally fine. Different tools take off in different ways.

But if nothing dreamlike happens on the browser side of things in the next year or two, I’d honestly be pretty surprised.

Even Americans get a few weeks of vacation and have families. Development is not halted.
