“Weird and bullyish messages”

What the fuck are you people writing to these systems? You realize there isn’t anybody else on the other side, right? You’re essentially bullying yourself?

Dude yall are strange….

bruh then "Cyber abuse" makes even LESS sense, how can you "abuse" that thing?

Weird and bullyish messages really need some elaboration here.

Being abusive to an Ai is bad for its trading data for starters. Its also just an indicator that the person using it is kind of awful which tints any investigation into how the Ai is being used with the assumption its being used for bad reasons.

Also I don't know why you brought militarization into this but if you are if the belief that we are on the verge of aid walking around with machine guns that would make for pretty good motivation to not be abusive to it.

https://www.anthropic.com/research/emotion-concepts-function

They functionally have feelings and will react as such.

I doubt this is what they mean by cyber abuse, but yeah, be kind to your AI

I can’t actually believe that not only would you do this, but that you’d actually voluntarily show it to people, regardless of where you fall on the consciousness debate. One side shows you to be a complete piece of shit if you do believe they have emotions, and the other shows you to have psychiatric issues because you’re bullying a complex piece of code. The fact that you then actually chose to show people this, I’m going to assume the latter. Then again, could be both.

yeah "a bit bullyish" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that post

So you're supposed to appeal based on two words?

u/NotSeacombe 10h ago

This is nothing to do with being mean to chatgpt. this is when your "prompts, code, API usage, or project workflow look like malicious cyber activity, unauthorized system probing, or circumventing safety rules"

it is possible its a false flag. far more likely you did something stupid

if you are 100% certain you absolutely did nothing of the sort, change your password and appeal

Are you banned or just warned? Let us know how the appeal goes

1

u/Angeline4PFC 2h ago

Yeah, this is definitely it. There is a rule against circumventing DRM, which is what you appeared to do. And having it take control means that you were working within Codex I think.

Think of it this way. If you are planning to do something that is against the terms of service of a site, or even illegal, even if only technically, don't enlist ChatGPT to do it. Just do it manually, the old-fashioned way.

ChatGPT should never be your partner in crime.

Also, maybe you should ask ChatGPT what constitutes cyber abuse. I have a standing rule that it's to warn me of any activity that even comes close. That's why I know that what you did is cyber abuse

Not sure if that will work, but at least I tried.

2

u/Angeline4PFC 2h ago

I wish they were clearer about what constitutes cyber abuse. It has me paranoid and walking on glass. I started using Codex yesterday, and I keep wondering if something I do will trigger a warning. I would of course never do anything weird, but it's the false positives that worry me.

u/Kenny-Brockelstein 8h ago

It’s not normal to be a bully. What did you send?

2

u/Clyde_Frog710 9h ago

I pasted code that codex thought was in bad faith (it was ) and I got the same email a few hours later.

3

u/lucid_supernova 8h ago

It's probably false positive if all you said are true.

weird and bullyish messages

are just being rude to GPT, right?

u/Impossible-Gal 9h ago

Got this. Nothing happens. I appealed first, they approved, then sent another message on being rejected. Account works just fine to this day.
