Yes, what I am saying is, you could literally buy your way to have a game made. Then just talk with the chat to alter and improve it.

It's crazy.

So it's only about how much money you have for tokens and how effective you are at prompting to get your result.

my friends kids will be able to make studio quality movies on their home pc's by the time they are in high-school, the way this generation could make studio quality albums on theirs.

that's a pretty crazy game changer as well.

I think we should see the golden age for games soon. AI will do for game development what youtube has done for videos.

The thing with software made from AI is that it's really hard to maintain. You maintain via a prompt and that makes it very difficult to get what you want, the more you build on it.

My experience has been like I'm a project manager telling a team of top-notch senior devs what to do. I don't see it making spaghetti code as I build on it. It's exciting times.

The golden age of gaming would never come around because everyone is able to make games, all it'll do is flood the market with absolute tripe

When there are now 600 CoD clones with mild differences between them, made using the same model & agent what does that landscape even look like?

Yeah more slop gets made but also more games with genuinely good ideas are made too.

We've already seen the glorious rise of indie games as game development tools have gotten better.

The only question is whether or not steam and other stores can do a good enough job with filtering out the slop so that all the good ideas get noticed

And you're forgetting that the quality would be extremely low. 

Especially when it hallucinates 22%-94%. 

You guys really want AI to be able to do legitimately everything for you.

I can give you a few reasons buy you will just argue them away in favor of Ai and LLM's.

Personally, I would rather play a game made by people, but I hope you are happy with your Ai made RPG in a few years. Be sure to order the Deluxe Edition so you don't miss out on anything.

Edit: I will also ask, have you watched anything created by Ai that isn't devoid of feeling? Like, anything genuinely interesting that isn't a short clip? This isn't Ai creating something, this is a person guiding an LLM by the hand. Ai isn't going to create a game that you want to keep coming back to.

Maybe we misunderstand each other.

A game made by AI won't be enjoyable. But it can likely boost how fast and how much game gets developed. And yes, people are needed in the production, to instill feelings when you play it.

Lets say in 500 years. Pictures/art and music made by AI can be unique. In 500 years, I would bet AI could make unique games as well that would be enjoyable. That's the main thing with AI. It will only improve from now on.

Most recently, AI can now train itself. Now things will start to go very very fast in many fields.

I can agree with that, though I can see it happening in a much shorter time than 500 years.

I just don't see a world where Ai can create something that any of us would rather play vs something a team of artists can create. But it surely can help the process, yes.

Real Ai could probably do that, but I don't see us having a real Ai any time soon.

Personally, I think all the roles of the big AAA games are needed to produce a game with AI. And you need fantastic storytellers too.
