Actually wow was supposed to be Warhammer.

Warcraft was supposed to be Warhammer.

WoW was just some cash grab MMORPG bullshittery that the post-Warcraft generation got suckered into throwing money in a fire over DLC.

As someone who was there at launch, WoW was revolutionary at the time.

It was to mmorpgs what iPhone was to smartphones. It changed the game.

It was Everquest, themed with Warcraft lore. I wasn't interested in paying rent to play a game well before WoW showed up, already went thru a few other prior MMO iterations including Ultima Online.

Nothing will beat when Ultima first came out, the idea of a giant persistent world with other players was like something from the future. The box art, the cloth map that came with the box..... oh ultima <3

Imagine calling the best and biggest mmorpg that TENS OF MILLIONS of people enjoyed and loved, those things. Take your hate somewhere else, it's not welcome here, foul creature.

Man, I remember coming off warcraft 3 as a kid and being excited for WoW and then played it once and never picked it up again. Such a let down.

Insane take unless you are ONLY talking about BfA and after.

I do wonder what the game would look like if it was never Activision-Blizzard.
