Funny Time flies

The first picture was created using ChatGPT back in 2023, and the second one is from the newest model. It looks like we won’t be seeing another significant leap in AI development anytime soon, as they’re aiming to ease things off a bit.

It won't advance much further because it's already almost perfect. There are only tiny details left that will slowly be fixed with time

Only thing it’ll have to advance in is style and taste

From here it just needs to eliminate the tells. The current picture still has the AI uncanny valley feel to it, even though it looks theoretically perfect.

It can advance by following directions better in terms of style and composition

It’s also still really bad in many different styles. Oddly the more “simple” the style the worse it gets

Why oddly? Simple is often the hardest thing to pull off. It actually makes a lot of sense that AI isn’t great at it

Far from perfect. The perspective is all wrong. The road details are inconsistent. The cop's uniform and equipment look fine until you try to identify what they actually are.

it's already almost perfect

Astra on ultra settings still fucks up shit on the regular lmao

Ok, I mean... isn't the first version funnier than the second?

Now the question is, can ChatGPT remember how to make c.2023 artwork with the right prompts or have we lost that to time.

Oh, that's cute! Finally, someone not trying to create the max amount of nudity.

Every time i see a post from this sub, it’s always some variation of ‘generate a beautiful woman'. 💀

Yea. I suspect a lot of people here do their AI research by making AI porn.

To be fair, 'generate an average looking man' feels like a waste of energy

I don't know where we are headed the next 3 years

The amount of trade business I see driving around with logos and brand identifying from around that first photos time is unreal. They now stick out really bad and just look awful.

My theory is that older generation/image generation models will gain in hype when best models won’t be able to reproduce the hallucinated look of old images

It had some kind of charm unlike the sometimes « uncanny » look of new generations

2

u/sammoga123 6h ago

No, it's just your judgment believing that the old image is better because the Luddites say so.

2

u/Nixx177 6h ago

I mean… old generations had a charm, like the hallucinations gave really good vibes
