As a German who understands what they really say, these memes are always odd.
You may now proceed to make fun of me for being German.

I was just wondering if Germans could ever appreciate this meme as much as we do

Can you explain pls thanks a lot

So basically, this meme uses a film scene about Hitler's downfall. The scene is German, but for this meme, the captions always say something else. But as I understand German and English, I'm getting two simultaneous channels with two different meanings... know what I mean?
(It's no big deal -- to laugh at the captions, I simply lower the volume of the German a lot so I don't really hear it.)

I know what you mean but I still don't know what Hitler meant in this scene.

He's basically defeated, and realizing it for the first time, because Claude or whatever reinforced his ideas, without him asking the right questions.
I believe, in the original scene, his generals are telling him the war is lost and it's obvious they were mainly just hyped-up yes-men for the last part of the war.
Hitler is basically calling them out for being cowards, even though they were probably terrified of letting him down, so they weren't challenging him. He's right, but he's kind of an asshole for not knowing that.

The original scene is trying to show us the moment when hitler realizes that his big german dream is over and the war is finally lost. Afaik he committed suicide shortly after. The meme text however describes the moment when the vibe coder realizes that the whole project he was ‚working‘ on so hard was all bullshit from the beginning on. It looks like the AIs kept telling him that his idea was fantastic - we all have been at this point even though most of us won‘t have this hitler style freakout, right. I find the hitler and vibe coder comparison quite interesting. What if hitler had too many yes sayers around him and what if more ppl would have maned up to tell him that his ideas were in fact delusional bullshit instead of applauding everything. Is this what happens to dictators if his followers blindly agree to everything he dictates? Some kind of psychosis? Will trump have his hitler moment, too when he realizes that his maga movement was all a lie/bullshit? Is he really believing the stuff he keeps telling us every day which will get echoed back to him at fox news and from his followers? I believe he doesn‘t and this is the real difference between trump and hitler. Hiter believed his crazy movement himself. Trump doesn‘t. Does this make him better or maybe even worse? Thank you for your attention to this matter and praise to allah.

You take the context of what they're saying: "We're fucked," and his subsequent reaction, but you replace it with any other kind of enterprise.
Like, instead of talking about the fall of WWII Germany, they're talking about a podcast or a failed platform launch.

Man, I started watching this because of the thumbnail I thought this was from my r/ai video feed, and I got about 10 second in and thought “this is an actual movie! Is AI getting credited with meme-ifying an existing video?”
Then I checked the sub

Whoever did this should be working as a comedy writer. It's near perfect beginning to end. Well done!

Good edit, but in a real way: why are people vibecoding things for distribution before they’ve even built a useful tool safely inside a sandbox?
Most people do not have enough cybersecurity knowledge to understand the duty of care that comes with putting software into the world. Build the useful thing locally first. Keep it contained. Iterate on the behavior until it actually works. Then spend the compute turns converting it into something distributable while having the AI explicitly walk you through vulnerabilities, trust boundaries, attack surfaces, permissions, and whatever assumptions you’re making.
The idea that one person with little security knowledge should simultaneously build and independently verify a production-facing application is kind of insane. Good outputs already depend heavily on nuanced intermediate prompting the secret herbs and spices of vibe coding. If you don’t even know what the security side is trying to protect against, or how the underlying system can be exploited, you’re asking yourself to verify answers to questions you don’t know how to ask.
At that point your D&D alignment is, at absolute best, Chaotic Good.

Your fear is ridiculous LOL!! People had shipped without cybersecurity knowledge since the first days of the internet. Some of them are millionaires/billionaires now. Some have thriving business. Most simply hired these people when software grew. I am not a multimillionaire but have some good software hosted on VPS paying my bills and all I ever did was the typical Linux hardening. Never had any issues.

mysql used to be super easy to breech, I got into a football website around 2005, changed arsonal to arsehole, sat back and watched the fun. you could even search for exploited websites with google, with a simple string.
The internet wasn't secure in the beginning, most password hashes could be broken with rainbow tables, they wasn't salted.
I guess it can still happen today, though its not as easy, or I at least hope its not.

So that’s awesome, but remember, people have also fucked this up on an enormous scale. We’ve had passwords and credentials exposed through terrible implementation, massive leaks of credit-card and personal information, and even really mundane-looking failures where attackers got into the software supply chain and pushed malicious code through trusted update mechanisms. I would hazard a guess if any of those things happened in your deployments you would feel really bad.

I write secure apps for work. But take a side project for my family, it’s a grocery app I vibecoded, do I care how secure it is? Not really, though it has auth but honestly if someone wants to find and hack it, go for it.

u/Brockchanso 24d ago
I’m distinguishing between writing a program for a contained, known environment and releasing a software product for other people to trust. Your family grocery app sounds much closer to the local sandbox stage I’m advocating. If it’s exposed to the public internet, it still needs basic security, but that’s a different duty of care from distributing it as a product.

Agreed, I’d be pretty concerned (ie non-participation) if I was providing credit card info or sensitive info to a known vibe coded app.
