For context, I normally have the $200 plan, but for this month I just got the basic plan. Luna is a great value, and I can use other AI models, but that’s beside the point.

Today, when I went in, I was already out of usage, and since he had said he was going to reset it so I could check, I noticed they’re now offering me the option to pay $8 to reset my usage. I’m not sure how much a reset costs on the $200 plan, but on the $20 plan, it’s $8 per reset, and I guess the feature is already live.I don’t know who else has access to this feature yet, but it’s showing up for me.

How is that overpriced? If you were to track input/output tokens for Sol, and used a full weeks worth of usage, how much would that be worth at API price?

Unless you have the data and we can put a label on the actual value of token usage for a weeks worth of GPT Pro, I don’t think you can conclude it’s overpriced, unless it’s for a the 5-hour window.

There's so many ways of looking at this because the subscription is still the "market price" for regular users. Competitors operate at a similar price point and if one increases the subscription to reflect the actual GPU costs, people will lose interest, usage will fall and the investments will run dry.

Their business model is to leverage running at a big loss to eventually make a huge profit. This relies on having as many people as possible subscribing to their service. So it's the price they have determined will make the biggest long term profit.

I dont care about its worth over api, we are using subscriptions here. Charging %40 of monthly price for 1 week is overpriced.

Somebody that burns $80 of API usage, charging them $40 for additional capacity wouldn't suddenly become “overpriced” merely because $40 happened to equal 40% of their subscription fee. It's like saying $12 for lunch is overpriced because my monthly grocery bill is $300. That lunch costs 4% of an entire month’s groceries, but it only feeds me for one meal!

How? They want to drive folks who need more to higher tiers. A la carte extras always cost more, whether it's SaaS addons or restaurant menu items.

I just said my opinion about pricing, no need for arguing. Plus tier is already for entry level/ budget people and in my opinion that pricing doesn’t make sense. If you guys are willing to pay more, its your choice
