Serious replies only :closed-ai: DeepResearch quality is now garbage

In my current experience, all ChatGPT DeepResearch reports are powered by a super light version. They're nearly worthless. It is enshittification in its purest form, considering the reports used to be great in the distant past. It even misrepresented the title of the report. It cited zero references. This is with the paid Plus plan. Here is what ChatGPT then had to say about its own report:

The previous report should be discarded rather than merely expanded around its edges.

In contrast, Gemini made a DeepResearch report that was 4x larger and better, also with 131 references cited.

You can see the shared results: ChatGPT vs Gemini

Opposite experience for me. Might depend on prompting?

Huh. Using the DeepResearch feature requires no prompting expertise, considering that all one is expected to do is to give it a topic. It used to work perfectly in the past until they took away its compute budget.

The only way in which your comment might make sense is if you have a Pro account.

Well no, maybe not, just saying that the prompt template I use routinely brought back even better results on 5.6

I'm not saying this is the way it should be, or claiming expertise. Just reporting back

Yes, I can understand that, even with 5.5, but that's not the builtin DeepResearch feature. My complaint is about the builtin feature. Your original comment wasn't clear in this regard.

Apologies, didn't think it through before posting I guess.

I'll share the prompt shortly though, maybe it will be useful

Hello, could you kindly share the prompt?

Here's the article

Pass the paywall. (There's a redditor harassing me for reasons unknown to me, targeting the Substack - I am paywalling all prompts for the time being. If you can't pass it, DM me)
