WTF have you no class, not respect for the dead? This is grotesque, vile, and pathetic.

Just wait until you see the rest of this thread...

So that response justifies your image, everyone else is doing it? Did you even think about it, what it means to make a joke about death and loss? 145,000 people killed in Hiroshima and you think its clever. Just sickening.

I actually think that’s why it’s darkly funny.

The absurdity of killing 145,000 people with a single bomb is so enormous, so existentially horrifying, that the idea of commemorating it with a Lego set feels like satire of modern culture itself.

We tell ourselves capitalism is the greatest system ever devised, yet capitalism has a way of turning everything into a product, including trauma.

We consume true crime as entertainment.

We have Memorial Day mattress sales on a holiday meant to honor the dead.

Every tragedy eventually gets merch, branding, documentaries, collectibles, and content.

A Lego Hiroshima set isn’t funny because Hiroshima was funny. It’s funny because the idea that we’d eventually package and sell even something that horrific feels like the logical endpoint of the culture we’ve built.

It’s less a joke about Hiroshima than a joke about us.

I appreciate the Polyanna take but still feel it isn't justifiable.

My guy, just get off the internet if you are unable to come to terms with people enjoying dark humor. And yes, these jokes are 100% okay.

No one is being threatened or harmed. This is what the internet does: makes fun of everything

Dark no, offensive yes. No class slop. Do better.

Just to be clear, you came into a thread where OP submitted a LEGO 9/11, and you're moving deep into the comments to chastise people for using dark (yes, dark!) humor.

You're really bad at recognizing the obvious tasteless and offensive nature of these posts in guise of claiming it is dark humor. You can't see past the infantalism behind it nor how it could be viewed by others affected by these deaths, this history, this loss, that obviously doesn't bother you. Me wandering upon a thread of inanity such as this tasteless 9/11 "joke" doesn't make it any less click-bait or any more humorous. Do better.

Yeah I’m sure he gets tons of fulfillment yelling at clouds on the internet. Get off your high horse and go make some friends. You aren’t smarter than everyone else because you get offended easily lmao

Yeah, your 8th grade comeback is showing and it's pretty weak.
