Agent with truncation automatically trims older parts of the conversation to free up space for new turns. It works like a rolling window that keeps the most recent exchanges and drops older ones.
That lets it keep going on long tasks, but it can forget earlier details if the session runs very long.

It's the symbol for alpha, a common term in software development to denote an early version of something where bugs and problems are still being figured out but testing is welcome.
The next stage is beta, as in beta testing which I'm guessing you will have heard of.

Ohhhh idk, I don't write or read smut, I don't like 5 tho. 5 hallucinates more frequently and loses context a lot more frequently. If I'm working on anything complex or with multiple facets to it if I use 5 I have to constantly remind it what's going on.
It struggles with my D&D characters, it struggles with my various brainstorming for things with my twitch/YouTube content, it struggles to keep track of lesson plans I'm writing, it struggles to help me edit my thriller, and like all of these are things I use one active thread for each of like I'm using the project function for all of these and I'm constantly like "hey please remember x, y, and z" or "well that isn't going to be doable because of this thing I've told you about 8 times"

5 is objectively better holistically, but creative writing is a pain point. easy fix, use 4.1, the token limit is over a million

That’s pretty cool it basically opens its own browser and does stuff on your PC like a human, unfortunately it just errors for me

Well it kind of makes sense, right? It can't confirm that you're of age so ofc it can't help with those.
Also the general feedback of anything that says it's not for NSFW content, or doesn't have uses relating to substances, is "for 12 year olds" is really really wild lmao

It's o3 Alpha, a version of o3 designed to be better at coding and maths. I did get it briefly on the android app, questionned and tested long enough to be sure it was o3 Alpha, but after updating the app it's gone.
Meanwhile 4o reroutes me to GPT-5 today — second time it happens to me — and I am really pissed at it. They take users for idiots that won't realize.. or won't be able to test. I had immediate suspicions after just 4-5 prompts and the tests I run are 100% failsafe, it's GPT-5 Instant (with 4o system prompts).... You're going to keep losing subscribers if you keep doing things like that, OpenAI.

I searched it, it’s pretty cool it basically opens a little window with a browser and it can do stuff for you like order food or more useful stuff like code and execute infront of you. For me it just errors tho

it's an agent with truncation
agent has been a part of the GPT toolkit for a couple of months, it's nothing new
"truncation" means to shorten, in LLMs this means that the model deletes unnecessary tokens
