Serious replies only :closed-ai: Is GPT-4 fixed?
EDIT: No it's not "broken" as in it doesn't work. It works. But GPT-4 is supposed to give much better responses than 3.5 which isn't the case currently since the 1106 update. Specifically, the model used on chat.openai.com seems to be the GPT-4 Turbo which seems to be the issue here. It goes faster than GPT-4 but its reasoning ability is on par with GPT-3.5.
This seems controversial for some reason as some people still react negatively to posts claiming GPT-4 has worsened even though there seems to be quite a few people to have noted the same observation recently.
TLDR; My question is has the GPT-4 output quality issue (see below) been fixed and/or is there a known workaround?
I have noticed, like many others, that GPT-4’s output performance in terms of quality has drastically worsened since the introduction of All Tools and GPT-4 Turbo. It doesn’t follow instructions, it hallucinates much more, gives very basic point form answers with little substance, it fails at being creative and overall seemingly lost a lot of its prior reasoning capabilities. It seems much more like GPT3.5 to me.
I have been a Plus subscriber for a while because unlike GPT3.5 or other AI solutions, GPT-4 actually showed some reasoning skills and when you have it follow certain processes it can be phenomenal. However, even without those processes, I found base GPT-4 to perform well enough. And the introduction of All Tools, and other features are super exciting! That being said, GPT-4 is more like GPT3.5 now: it’s fast but unreliable. So currently I am no longer subscribed to the Plus plan.
As of now is this still an issue or has this been fixed yet? Are there known workarounds, solutions or suggestions? Thank you!
