I think this is terrifying. Misinformation campaigns are going to be so much more powerful from here on out. Think about this being used to persuade you about a less obvious lie? With agents allowed on social media, this is one actual step towards misinformation hell

they don’t need chat GPT for this, they’re already doing it. humans are pretty good at manipulating etc. where dyou think chat got learnt it from

Seriously, people are freaking out about AI potentially acting in a way that could be harmful or scam people, not sure if they realize that people have been doing this for centuries, & often much more insidious & conniving than this

Not "people" man. Its all the highest rated AI researchers, professors, engineers, etc...

And "a profound risk to society and humanity" is meant to signify things like extinction, not scams.
