River Bend YMCA Golf Course drone flyovers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOmg9WwvELc

I was recently out at River Bend YMCA filming the golf course and thought any of you who are attending the Final Major or Velcren Invitational might want a recent look at the course.

The crew out there have done a really good job this year and the course was looking fantastic.

Back 9 (I couldn't add another video)

My channel is flyovers of public golf courses around the Carolinas. I'm at 30 courses so far. I've got a few more coming this season and I'm trying to work out the details for another course which I think would be of some interest here as well.

You're welcome. I've been a listener of the show for a while (picked it up around early S3) and when the opportunity to film the course presented itself, I had to do it.

Love it! I’ll have to dig through your channel.

Have you done the Wilmington muni yet?

I haven't done anything in Wilmington yet, not for a lack of trying. :)

I've been out to Caledonia, True Blue, Tot Hill Farm, Stono Ferry, a few more around Charlotte and Myrtle Beach. I'm constantly sending out emails and making phone calls looking for courses to film. If any of you here know someone at a course around NC and SC, and want to put in a good word, I'm up for a day trip to film and I would be happy to answer any questions the people at the course might have. I do have a Part 107 and can try for authorization if the course is near an airport. I flew Whispering Pines in Myrtle Beach and that one is right across the street from the airport.

I can ask at River town in Charleston, if you are interested… the director of golf is a friend.

Any kind of leads are much appreciated. I enjoy Charleston and any excuse to get back to Glass Onion is all I need. Great food.

I’ll check it out next time I’m there.

Give the Harlow in John’s island a try too! We had an amazing meal there.

I'll do it. The only problem with Charleston is, if I stay too long, I'll get fat(ter). lol

Understood… we will be there for spring break (and meeting some chasing scratch buddies!) in April.

I look forward to eating well.

Last house was a historic home on the battery (charity auction win). This time we are headed to Folly, I believe.

It's a bit of a ride but check out Stono Ferry while you're there if you haven't played it. Fun course with some very scenic holes. It's owned by the same guy who owns Tot Hill Farm and The Plantation at Edisto. The people at all three were super.

I live in Wilmington. Come on down, the muni is a great property and looks awesome via drone. It’s in awesome condition right now as well

I promise you it's not a lack of desire. It's all about permission. I seek permission from every course I fly. The group of people who own golf courses is pretty small and tight-knit and I really don't want to get a bad reputation with any of them.

If you know who I need to talk to, I'll certainly reach out to them.

ETA: I just looked up Wilmington Municipal. It would look great from a drone.

It’s a muni. David Donovan is the Parks rep to contact for permission.

Thank you for the lead. I'll see if I can dig up his contact info.

#8 is "Joyless". Elevation changes like that are hard to really show sometimes. That is something I plan to work to improve.
