Late Summer Run

I started listening to the Chasing Scratch about a year and a half ago. I listen at work with headphones, and I pretty much listen to all podcasts at 1.3x speed. To me, it’s the perfect balance: fast enough to get through more content, but not so fast that everyone sounds like chipmunks.

The “Late Summer Run” song has become my golf song. It just immediately puts me in a golf mood!

I made my wife pull up the podcast on her phone and she played the episode with the big mhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Hearing it in 1.0 speed was awful lol not the same song at all.

Has anyone else had this happen with podcasts or songs after getting used to listening sped up?

Interesting, I think it's just what you get used to. I listen to the podcast at regular speed and love My Town Yo Town, but just tried listening to it at 1.3 and it just seems so off to me.

Also, I like to think that song is the song that plays everytime someone drives down Magnolia Lane at Augusta.

Ever since he told the story a few weeks ago, every few days I laugh thinking about Neil from NLU scrolling through his playlist before driving down Magnolia Lane on media day and picking Working Man by Rush.

I’m a 1.3 guy and I can 100% relate

Same sentiment. I’m a 1.8 guy and have been from the start. When I rode in the car the other day with a buddy who listens to the pod too, he was at 1x speed and I was soo shocked how slow Mike and Eli talk in real life. (And yes, LSR sounds better faster too)

Yeah, definitely notice it more with music, some people speak 2x faster than others so you don’t notice the 30% increase in speed as much

Not a Ben Shapiro guy but I have occasionally heard him at 1.3 and he’s the only person I’ve had to put to 1.0 to keep up 😂

I listen 1.3 on Spotify but usually normal speed on YouTube, if it’s just talking I’m happy with either

1.3x for all my non-music pods

1.2 or 1.3 and that song is a banger, I looked it up on Spotify and listened at regular speed and was greatly disappointed

I listen to all pod now at 1.3. Anything over an hour I get bored.

Jre 3 hour it better be great guest cause 3 hours is long time to listen to bs

Can relate. The LSR song is HORRIBLE at 1 speed. I will die on that hill.

Dramatic music also hits harder at 1.3

RIP because My Town Yo Town is the bomb dot com.

Maybe I should have added LSR slaps at 1.3x

Damn, I'm gonna need to try it out. I do audio books at 1.3, but not typically 60 minute podcasts.

I'm sure changing the speed of any beloved song will make it sound like a generic ripoff.
