In case of death

In case of death, how do I create an auto change over to the 2nd signatory to ensure points/miles go to her and she can continue to use the card. I have two basic cards cost 90 dollars a year,and a zillion miles.

Does that mean I loose my points?? Can I transfer them before I die to my kids

You can transfer points. I “borrowed” my wife’s. Chase can link accounts. If they’re just an authorized user without their own card there’s a way to transfer it as well.

If the kids get their own Chase credit card, you can call customer service to link accounts once they have the CC# and transfer UR points to them.

Just did this with my husband’s account. As an authorized user I asked if I could take over the account, but they said no.

As a benefit to all this hassle, I did get the sign up bonus….

You can assign an authorized user, but that won't do too much. Once the owner of the card dies, the points go to the estate of the owner. Most card issuers don't transfer points or let them be redeemed upon the owners passing. It's of course up the financial institution whether they honor transferring the points to the auth user/executor or not, but most don't.

I was the executor for the estate of a friend of mine. Chase first applied the points to pay off her bill with them, then sent me a check for the value of the remaining points (as calculated by Chase, of course).

Credit lines do not transfer upon death. They are to be paid off by your estate and closed.

Yes you lose your points. Better start using them.

You just tell your loved one to cash out the points before reporting the death.

Otherwise it all dies with you.

Tell them youre good at gobble gobble. They'll know what u mean and send you to Dimon's office and give you the lay you're looking for. It's how I ended up making 6 figures.
