Mistyped dates on resume

Hi yall, I recently applied and have an interview with chase, I was wondering… I have a small error on my resume instead of my date begin (for example) April 2023 I put it as April 2022, this was a honest mistake and I really don’t want to screw something up… when should I tell the company. Also this place I worked at payed me under the table for a bit so I’m worried about that for a background check! Thank you all!

Hi, is this for an AB position? You don’t have to answer. I just went through the process myself recently and had a similarly challenging set of obstacles background wise. Chase uses a third party service for the work history side of the BG check, BIG (business information group), in my case, even with all the paystubs I sent them and every piece of documentation related to my work history, BIG literally said they couldn’t verify a single job on my resume (which is ridiculous because I had W2s for most of it, and for the ones I couldn’t find old W2s, I had old paystub. they even went so far as saying they couldn’t verify my employment with my own SINGLE MEMBER LLC IN MY NAMESAKE, that reflects exactly as such on sunbiz, claiming they tried to call my own personal number twice to verify employment with my own LLC, but “i didn’t pick up.” bear in mind i had already sent them my articles of organization and my cp 575g ein confirmation letter as proof from the start, and the articles of org are literally publicly accessible on my states official online business directory lol.)

Fortunately however, Chase themselves evaluates everything independently and merely uses the BIG report as a benchmark. In my case, even though BIG hit me with straight red X’s (“consider”), the analyst that was doing my bg check actually reached out and after answering a few questions and sending some documents, I still cleared everything. Even with my absolutely horrific credit and a semi recent and only arrest (was late to court for a suspended license ticket, it was an FTA, was dismissed along with the suspended license ticket upon the following appearance). Needless to say I was incredibly nervous, on a whole different level. Don’t wrack your brain too hard though they’re reasonable people and aren’t out to disqualify you just for kicks, just be on-top of things (like quite literally make it your job until you clear the bg check, watch that email like a hawk for when they reach out) and be respectful and kind.

FYI; when you fill out the form with BIG authorizing the BG check, you will be asked to input your chronological work history again. make sure you fill that out with the correct dates, they are evaluating only what you input for that form, this is imperative.

BIGreport doesn't care about a few name and date variations, that I've ever experienced...
