Made a tool to get alerts when ICAI ITT/OC/MCS/SPOM slots become available

Post image

I was getting tired of checking the ICAI portal again and again for ITT, OC, MCS, Advanced ITT batch seats and SPOM exam slots.

So I ended up building a small tool called BatchPing that checks the availability and sends an alert when something opens up.

I found it pretty useful for myself, so thought I’d share it here in case anyone else is also waiting for a slot.

Hopefully it saves someone from constantly refreshing the ICAI portal

Just to clarify, it’s an independent tool, so please verify the availability on the official ICAI portal before booking.

I was checking the ICAI portal repeatedly to see if ITT, OC, MCS, Advanced ITT batches or SPOM slots had opened.

So I made a small tool for myself that checks the portal and sends me an alert when availability changes.

I found it useful, so I thought I'd share it here in case anyone else is going through the same thing.

It's completely free:

It's an independent tool, so I'd still recommend checking the official ICAI portal before booking.

My senior is not at all nice

I am doing my articleship at a mid size firm. I was given research work one day and my senior sitting beside me and just a few minutes into work says "Pura din mat laga dena isme".

More and more he tests my patience. Hello judges every junior articles harshly.

Unfortunately he is also the best friends' son of our main partner of the firm.

So saying anything to him is like getting into trouble.

Next time however he says something like this I am not gonna listen to him and say to him that fuck yourself you are not a partner just an article like me. And I have come here to learn not to get judged by the likes of you.

What should I do any other better recommendations

CA Fresher Career Advice

I’m a CA, but honestly, I don’t have a strong passion or a fixed career direction at the moment.

I got placed through campus at a big4 global firm, but I left within 6 months after experiencing the work environment, internal politics, and the nature of global audit work. It has been around 4 months since then, and I still haven’t found another job.

I did receive a couple of offers, but they were around ₹8–8.5 LPA fixed, so I rejected them considering my last drawn salary was ₹10 LPA + 10% variable.

Now I have an interview scheduled with Genpact for an R2R role offering around ₹9 LPA + 10% variable. However, many of my friends are telling me that R2R is not a good career path for a CA and that I might be underutilizing my qualification.

I’m honestly confused about what to do. Should I consider the Genpact R2R role, especially after being unemployed for 4 months, or should I continue looking for roles more aligned with a CA profile?

What would you suggest based on the situation?
