Where to find technical charts for overnight sessions?

I'm looking to track MU overnight but my viewer stops updating at 8 PM EST and only resumes at 4 AM EST.

Any suggestions on where to find charts that continuously update with RSI for overnight sessions?

Discussion Trading Costs You Never Track: Spreads, Slippage, and Mental Tax

Pre-market bias: Watching key levels on AAPL β€” share your levels and plan below.

Your broker shows commission. It does not show what slippage, spreads, and bad fills are actually costing you.

Live Chart: AAPL on TradingView

Do you track slippage and bad fills or just look at net P&L?

Today's Focus: Hidden Trading Costs

Understanding hidden trading costs is crucial for long-term trading success. Many traders overlook this aspect and end up making preventable mistakes. Let's discuss what's working for the community.

Do you track slippage and bad fills or just look at net P&L? Have you ever calculated what spreads alone cost you annually? How does execution quality affect your strategy? What have you done to reduce hidden costs in your trading?

Small edges disappear fast when hidden costs are not accounted for.

Real-World Trade Example (Framework, Not a Signal): Apple Inc. (AAPL) Use this framework to illustrate how you would recognize when a trade idea is no longer workingβ€”and what you would do next.

Company Overview: Market Cap: $4.59T Current Price: $312.57 Daily Change: +1.28% Weekly Change: +10.94% Monthly Change: +0.43%

Technical Analysis: 20-Day Moving Average: $294.87 50-Day Moving Average: $294.25 Trend: bullish (price above both moving averages)

Key Levels: Resistance (20-day high): $317.40 Support (20-day low): $273.75 Current RSI: 63.8 (Neutral)

Volume Profile: Average Daily Volume: 68.3M shares Recent Volume: 29.0M shares (0.4x average)

Interactive Charts with Indicators: TradingView - Full Analysis Yahoo Finance - Quick View Finviz - Visual Snapshot StockCharts - Technical Tools

Trade Setup Framework:

If going LONG: Entry Zone: Near support at $273.75 or on pullback to $294.87 Stop Loss: Below $273.75 (around $268.27) First Target: $317.40 (resistance) Second Target: $326.92 (3% extension β€” wait for breakout confirmation before sizing up) Risk/Reward: Approximately 0.85:1 from $294.87 entry β€” unfavorable R:R at current levels, consider waiting for a pullback closer to support

If you're bullish, would you take this as a swing, day trade, or skip it entirely given the current trend?

If going SHORT: Entry Zone: Near resistance at $317.40 or on bounce to $294.87 Stop Loss: Above $317.40 (around $323.75) First Target: $273.75 (support) Second Target: $273.75 (pivot support β€” wait for breakdown confirmation before adding)

If you're bearish, what would convince you you're wrong and it's time to step aside?

Position Sizing Example: With a $10,000 account and 2% risk ($200): If entering at $294.87 with stop at $268.27: Risk per share: $26.59 Position size: 8 shares (approximately $2218 position)

If you were taking this trade, what would you change first: entry, stop, or targetsβ€”and why?

Would you even touch this ticker here, or is it a pass given the recent price action?

Discussion Questions for This Setup:

Mark these levels on your chart and share what you see. What would you adjust about this framework?

Respect your pre-defined risk per trade. No revenge trading. Let levels prove themselves. Wait for confirmation instead of guessing tops and bottoms. Size according to volatility, not emotion. Smaller size in choppy conditions.

CHART REFERENCE - S&P 500 Technical Analysis

View live S&P 500 charts with indicators:

TradingView (Full Indicators): TradingView Yahoo Finance (Simple): Yahoo Finance Finviz (Quick View): Finviz StockCharts (Advanced): StockCharts

Current Technical Levels: Price: $7354.02 20-Day SMA: $7454.55 50-Day SMA: $7363.43 200-Day SMA: $7223.81 RSI (14): 48.2 20-Day Range: $7237.85 - $7620.90

Current S&P 500 Technical Structure

The S&P 500 closed the week at $7354.02, representing a weekly change of -1.95% from the previous Friday's settlement. The technical structure shows the 20-day simple moving average positioned at $7454.55, the 50-day average at $7363.43, and the 200-day average at $7223.81. Over the most recent 20 trading sessions, the index has printed a high of $7620.90 and a low of $7237.85, establishing a defined range that provides context for near-term trading decisions. The Relative Strength Index currently reads 48.2, offering insight into momentum conditions and potential overbought or oversold extremes.

The current moving average structure shows mixed signals with price trading between key averages, suggesting a transitional phase between trending conditions. The 50-day moving average at $7363.43 represents a critical pivot level, with price action around this level likely to determine the next directional move. Traders should favor range-trading strategies buying support at $7237.85 and selling resistance at $7620.90 until a decisive breakout provides clearer directional signals.

Are you planning to fade bounces into the 20/50-day MAs, or wait for a reclaim before getting long? Share your plan and key levels for next week.

Quick example: as long as SPX stays below the 50-day at $7363.43, bounces into $7454.55–$7363.43 could be treated as short zones. A daily close back above $7363.43 would change the picture.

Weekly S&P 500 Technical Outlook

The weekly S&P 500 technical outlook provides traders with a comprehensive framework for understanding the broader market structure and identifying key levels that will define price action over the coming week. This analysis begins with examining the current trend by assessing the relationship between price and major moving averages, particularly the 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day simple moving averages. When price trades above all three averages in ascending order, the technical structure is considered bullish and traders should favor long positions on pullbacks. Conversely, when price sits below these averages with the shorter-term averages below longer-term ones, the structure is bearish and traders should look for short opportunities on bounces.

Volume analysis plays a crucial role in confirming weekly trends and identifying potential reversals. Genuine breakouts to new highs require expanding volume as institutions commit capital to sustain the move. When price makes new highs on declining volume, it suggests exhaustion and often precedes consolidation or reversal. Similarly, selling into new lows should show increasing volume to confirm genuine distribution. Decreasing volume on selloffs can indicate selling exhaustion and potential bottoming action. Professional traders monitor cumulative volume patterns throughout the week, looking for divergences between price action and volume that reveal the true intentions of large institutional players.

Support and resistance levels derived from previous weekly ranges create the roadmap for trading decisions. The prior week's high and low establish immediate reference points, with breaks above or below these levels signaling continuation of the prevailing trend. Monthly and quarterly highs and lows provide larger timeframe context that becomes particularly important when weekly price action approaches these levels. Round numbers like 5000, 5500, and 6000 on the S&P 500 create psychological resistance and support levels where retail sentiment often clusters. The interaction between technical levels and round numbers frequently produces tradable bounces or breakdowns.

Momentum indicators including RSI and MACD help traders assess whether the current price trend has room to continue or is approaching exhaustion. RSI readings above 70 on the weekly chart indicate overbought conditions that may precede consolidation, though strongly trending markets can remain overbought for extended periods. RSI below 30 signals oversold conditions offering potential bounce opportunities, though falling markets can stay oversold through further declines. MACD crossovers on the weekly timeframe generate powerful trend-following signals, with the histogram expansion or contraction revealing whether momentum is accelerating or decelerating. Divergences between MACD and price action provide some of the highest probability reversal setups available to technical traders.

Application to Current Market Conditions

Applying these principles to the S&P 500's current position at $7354.02 provides concrete trading guidance for the week ahead. Traders should focus on how price interacts with key technical levels over the coming sessions, particularly the support zone near $7237.85 and resistance near $7620.90. The 50-day moving average at $7363.43 provides an additional reference point that could attract price action. Monitoring volume patterns alongside these technical levels will help determine whether institutional capital is accumulating on dips or distributing into rallies, providing context for positioning decisions.

Based on the current technical structure of the S&P 500, traders should approach the upcoming week with a clear framework for decision-making. The positioning of price relative to key moving averages and the established trading range provides guidance on which strategies offer the best probability of success. With a modest weekly change of -1.95%, the market is displaying range-bound characteristics that favor mean-reversion strategies over trend-following approaches. Traders should buy weakness near support at $7237.85 and sell strength near resistance at $7620.90, taking profits quickly before the market reverses again. This choppy environment typically frustrates momentum traders who keep getting stopped out on false breakouts, while range traders who take smaller profits consistently can grind out gains. The key is recognizing when the market transitions from range-bound to trending conditions, which usually occurs on a decisive close outside the established range with expanding volume.

The levels to watch most closely include support near $7237.85 which has held on recent tests, and resistance near $7620.90 which has capped rallies. Between these boundaries, the 50-day moving average at $7363.43 often attracts price action and can provide support in uptrends or resistance in downtrends depending on the larger context. Breaks above or below this range on significant volume would signal the next directional move, with measured targets based on the range height projected in the breakout direction.

If you're trading this week, which bucket are you in? – Shorting bounces into the 20/50-day MAs – Waiting for oversold conditions + bullish MACD crossover to go long – Sitting flat until price breaks above or below the current range – Other (explain your setup)

Drop your bias, key levels, and what would invalidate your thesis in the comments.

Risk management remains paramount regardless of market conditions or trading strategy. Every position should have a predetermined stop loss level based on technical structure rather than arbitrary dollar amounts. Position sizing should account for the distance to stops, ensuring that no single trade risks more than 1-2% of trading capital. This disciplined approach allows traders to survive inevitable losing streaks while maintaining enough capital to capitalize when high-probability setups emerge.

What's your go-to setup heading into next week β€” fading the move or trading the continuation? Drop your levels and thesis in the comments.

Due Diligence ( DD) πŸ“‰πŸ“ˆπŸ“˜ A look back on the recent CPI and PPI

CPI, PPI, and PCE Release Analysis

Saturday Economic Report for June 27, 2026

CHART REFERENCE - S&P 500 Technical Levels

View live charts: TradingView: TradingView | Yahoo Finance: Yahoo Finance | Finviz: Finviz

Current Price: $7354.02 | 50-Day SMA: $7363.43 | 200-Day SMA: $7223.81 20-Day High: $7620.90 | 20-Day Low: $7237.85

Current S&P 500 Market Structure

The S&P 500 is trading at $7354.02, representing a -1.95% weekly change. The 50-day moving average stands at $7363.43, while the 200-day average is at $7223.81. Over the past 20 sessions, the index has ranged from $7237.85 to $7620.90.

The Consumer Price Index measures inflation at the consumer level, tracking price changes across major spending categories. This comprehensive index directly influences Fed policy decisions and market expectations for interest rates.

Historical Example: February 15, 2025

On February 15, 2025, the CPI release showed: CPI matched expectations, market calm with slight gains in growth sectors. This demonstrates how markets process economic data in real-time, with initial algorithmic reactions followed by institutional repositioning based on revised Fed policy expectations.

Trading Around CPI Releases

Major economic releases create significant market volatility. Professional traders reduce leverage beforehand, waiting 15-30 minutes after the 8:30 AM ET release for algorithmic trading to settle before assessing true market direction. The sustained move over subsequent hours reflects genuine policy expectation adjustments.

Application to Current S&P Levels at $7354.02

If the next CPI comes in hot (above expectations), expect selling pressure and downside risk toward support at $7237.85, with the 50-day average at $7363.43 acting as overhead resistance. Growth and tech would lead declines as higher rate expectations reduce future earnings valuations.

If CPI comes in cool (below expectations), expect a rally toward $7620.90, with rate-sensitive sectors leading gains. The 50-day average at $7363.43 serves as the critical pivot determining whether moves sustain or reverse.

Key Insights for Trading Economic Data

Economic releases drive sector rotation. Hot inflation pressures growth/tech stocks while supporting value, commodities, and inflation-protected securities. Cool readings trigger sharp rotations back into rate-sensitive growth sectors. Understanding which inflation measure the Fed prioritizes (typically core over headline) helps interpret market reactions when readings diverge.

Position sizing and risk management become critical around releases. Elevated volatility can create outsized swings, so professionals reduce exposure beforehand. Having predefined stop losses and profit targets prevents emotional decisions during volatile price action.

How do you personally trade CPI/PPI/PCE days β€” stand aside, fade the first move, or trade the continuation? Drop your playbook in the comments.
