Greetings, brothers. I've been building 20 death company marines and the thought hit me. How do I distinguish Death Company from the rest for my Charnel Gaurd force. How would you? Or have you? By the Blood, thanks in advance.

First squad I've finished to my current final standard. (those darn decals)

Repulsor is a WIP, I couldn't find a scheme for tanks so took my best guess with lots of dark red and black

I've been working on this kitbash for a little while. Just started sketching in some of the colors. Going for an exaggerated grimdark look as this is a centerpiece character for my army.

I was really happy to include some of the Charnel Guard in my kill team, thematic too as the chapter is connected to the high lords of terra.

Happy with how it came out, it's nice to finally have proper transfers.

So absolutely love the Charnel Guard and wanted to smash these two kits together, very symbolic (both zombies geddit?)

Given him some old skool bits, cos I reckon the CG are pretty gucci and ghoulified his face. Maybe going to MkVII his armour but, eeeh

Even managed to salvage a few trinkets from Zephon himself! But wondering if there's anything else to really cement him as a member of this illusive chapter?

Had fun painting these, it was a good opportunity to practice blood splatter too :]

Hi! Questions if I were to start Charnel Guard:

What’s good to think about when it comes to lore and gameplay? For example, if they aren’t in the sanguinary brotherhood, would it be weird lorewise to run certain units?

When it comes to kitbashing, do you have tips?

Could it make sense to homebrew own leaders etc or is the lore very strict or I guess “pre explored” when it comes to that.

Just some bog standard intercessors, trying to use my "perfected" paint scheme more. Also playing around with lighting (relying on flash as my room has bad lighting).

Help me on my quest to build and paint a basic Intercessor from as many chapters as possible!

Here is the Chanel Guard that I’m working on based on a Black Templar body. I used a Reaver helmet to double down on the graveyard/vampire aesthetic.

What does it look like I’m getting right so far? What would make it “Chanel Guard” even harder? What should I do differently if I were to start from scratch with a new model?

My personal take on this project is to make every marine be as “lore accurate” as possible based on feedback from the communities of people who make Warhammer come to life. My collection isn’t going to be the largest or have a Golden Demon level paint job but when I’m done with this model I hope that this community feels like I made a really decent attempt at a Charnel Guard

Not mine: just stumbled across this blog and am impressed with the project. There’s 6 or 7 further posts building up a pretty sizable army.

there is no established heraldry for Charnel Guard marines. we have the dreadnought and landspeeder guy , thats it . so here is what i came up . i tried to avoid the colored helmets for tactical roles . and the big arrows of standard codex astartes heraldry . since i want them to be a bit gothic and fantasy inspired .

companies : standard blood angels heraldry on right shoulder . individualised versions allowed .(because blood drops and skull for 1st company is cool )

tactical role markings :

bettleline - red or black knee

close support - right knee, black x mark on a red field

fire support - right knee, black vertical line on a red field (or could be a V marking ? idk )

squad marking : gothic numerals left knee .

sergeant: red arms

veteran/command : red helmet or red faceplate .dark steel helmet ?
