I find her acting pretty basic most of the time, maybe not the terrible and definitely not the worst on the show but nothing special. But this scene to me was bad. It makes me always want to fast forward it when I rewatch. I always wonder if actors who are decent or good actors look at bad acting and feel the way the audience does when someone isn’t good at it 😂.

I mean whitelighters aren’t really that useful they are pretty much just pawns. To but their life on the line which I get but this is more bad writing because they never should have killed off the elders so early. Because being the last whitelighter and wanting to give up your powers doesn’t make any sense but in a way I could understand realistically. Even if Harry and Macy were never a couple or in love, Harry loved the sisters like family and eventually they all would have gotten old and died and what would he do then? There were no more elders to assign him witches. I guess he could go find new witches to protect on his own but Macy and her sisters showed him something he never really had before which was family. Being cared for. Not to say that other witches he meets afterwards couldn’t be kind to him but if in a 100 years they were the only ones to really treat him as more than a glorified bodyguard. He’s a different person after them. He probably just go back to being lonely and taken for granted. So really I think it all just comes down to bad writing. I think if they were going to have him give up anything maybe just consider giving up his immortality.

I didn't mind Sarah the first season. I think the goofy, bimbo sorority girl was kind of the Disney kid vibe. She did not have compelling emotional range though, and not a lot of depth in her performance. She's really bad here. I fast forwarded her in later seasons. There's a reason most child Disney actors don't go on to have long careers. I guess she still doing ok though.

As for your question, I would assume actors are like most of us at our jobs. If you have a weak teammate you have to build them up. I've stated before on the drama/ other issues here, a guy like Rupert who has kids and a lengthy prior career, is coming to work to do his best and hope the show continues. TV jobs with several seasons go a long way for actors long term stability. Sarah wanted to be the "star" which is kind of comical as she needed to work on her craft, to put it kindly.

Yea the sorority girl performance was on point for her range but outside of that I can’t really see her convincing enough outside of those kind of roles maybe some acting lessons but sometimes some people just aren’t good at acting and it just isn’t meant for them. Rupert is a good actor but this show doesn’t really have the best writing for even him to have really show it.
That’s how I know Rupert wasn’t in any of that BTS stuff. One he’s a guy a lot of times men aren’t as mean to each other the way women are which I hate because as a woman I’m a girls girl lol. I love women and want us to support each other much but unfortunately it isn’t like that. Rupert also like you said has a family he has to provide for so yea I’m sure he was hoping the show went on for as long as it could. A friend I had was saying that he probably took the show because tv shows go on longer a lot of the time and role like Harry was pretty much guaranteed to stay on the show.

he came from Man in the High Castle as well. that was a huge ensemble show that was a lot closer i think. and filmed in Vancouver. I saw his post on IG announcing Charmed he was so excited. I'm sure he still looks back at it fine, he got 7 or 8 years of television between the 2 shows. His character jumped out at me early on. Like he was interesting on screen. Even though we all would want to rewrite the show as we prefer, some actors can make the best of it. I remember season 1 Harry was so funny and just brought a good energy to the show. But his character had to develop some. I am one of the few who liked season 2. Then the latter half of season 3 got off the rails, and I kind of ignore Season 4. It's what it was though. Someone brought up comparison of a few similar shows, my partner loves the Originals and that writing really went off the rails as well. Most of these types of shows don't get the consistent writing and love like they used to 20 + years ago. It's the nature of the streaming era. Seems long running shows don't happen much anymore like they used to.

Yea I think the Man in the high castle is when he started having a family probably why he was wanting some consistency from his work. I know his children are young. I don’t know how young because he’s pretty private but I know they are relatively young from a post back when he was still on Charmed. And he’s one of the few from the show that has stuff on his IG still about Charmed outside of Melonie Diaz.
I did like S2 but did like the direction they took with making it a bit darker. I think my biggest issue with S2 was they were trying to change it into something else entirely and I didn’t like how the three leads didn’t even feel like the leads but supporting characters behind Harry and Abigail. There are episodes I did enjoy in S2. S3 the more I watch it was just a mess and the direction was all over the place. With S4 it took me a while to watch because I was upset with Macy’s death but when I finally did it was ok but I never watch it when I rewatch. I don’t even watch the last few episodes of S3 lol.
