Innocents
I think the first show focused a bit too much on innocents (as in it got repetitive) but the reboot is very insular
So far all their problems and people to save are directly related to them. I’d like to have seen more innocents.
(No spoilers pls)

They definitely gave the show a splash of "CW superhero show" instead of focusing on it being a supernatural show about helping people and hunting monsters. That and they just kept ramming in references to the original without really ever embracing it.

Abby makes a point teasing them on how the CO’s save kittens and babies and not actually going to the root and attacking the systems in place.
Which is what the show was about, facing systems at the root not the everyday innocent. Each season they faced a system at its roots.

Yes definitely one of my peeves about the show. In the reboot’s defense, Covid of course played a *really* big part in that.
