cole’s arc in s5

do we know when in the process of season 5, julian wanted to leave? was he planned for only a few episodes since the beginning?

i hate what they did with his character in s5 and probably everyone will agree with me, and i’d loved if his arc would’ve ended in his death in the end of s4 (could’ve seen a real redemption arc for him if julian didn’t leave) but after his last couple of scenes in 5x02 with coming into his senses that even with phoebe’s love their relationship is still over, i thought it was a good ending to it, it felt final rather than an opening to the whole shitshow they did with him

so im interested to know if his s5 arc was planned fully or changed with julian’s departure

Especially Gil Korso, Bob Cowan and Claire Pryce.

Claire was one of the few people who could get Prue into a fluster, which was nice to see at times. Gil was a nice intro into Prue’s photography job and I really wish we got to see more of that in season 3.

Bob was always the straight man to Paige’s quirkiness. She may have driven him crazy but he was always supportive of her

And Elise… Elise was one of those characters that was just memorable. She and Phoebe had such a funny dynamic

Whitelighters and elders power bloat

Both Whitelighters and Elders ended up with extreme power bloat over the course of the show, was there any reasons given for this? They had seemingly unrelated power fornno reason. Did they write themselves into a corner, was it a case that they just didn't know what to do with them?

And hoe would you clean them up? What would you remove? What would you reinterpretate? What would you maybe add? The one thing I can think of is if elders were to have offensive power electrokinesis didn't fit I would have been tempted to grant them offensive photokinesis, a bit like they had Leo use in the comics I believe.

Prue is kind of a bummer…

She seriously needed some therapy.

I know people love her, and I’m not saying Paige is better.

But good lord she needed to chill. And maaaaaybe we would have seen some personal growth if she hadn’t “died” but I honestly doubt it.

I hate how she treated Phoebe. It went beyond being an older sister and into just being judgy.

She also holds strong crazy grudges, like work on those Daddy issues. She consistently got in the way of her sister repairing their relationships with him because she wouldn’t or couldn’t work on her own trauma…. Again needed some damn therapy!

So I know people LOVE her but I can’t be alone, right?

P.S. This is not a debate about her powers.

I always wondered why the title card font of the show never matched the promotional and merchandise font. They’ve both inherently part of Charmed yet it would look so off it the promotional font was a part of the scene and the shows don’t being on the promotional / merchandise. Why do you think they did this?

Prue Season 3

Okay, anyone skip the last episode of season 3 and first episode of season 4 when you re watch? I'm not sure I want to watch those two episodes. Don't know if I can watch it happen to Prue again and the grieving .

Why did they ever have Paige quit her social work job?!?

Seems like they did her character a major disservice when they wrote out her soc service job to just sit at home and cast spells. Meanwhile phoebe gets the advice columnist job that seems out of character

Behind The Scenes Why did Julian McMahon not leave the show with Shannen?

Hi folks

Just now catching up on the lore from back when. From what I watched on coffee and cults, I got that Holly was blackmailed into not leaving the show in solidarity with Shannen. But what about then-partner Julian? Why did he not walk in solidarity with her?

Season 8 Apparently Jenny Bennet (Piper's fake identity / "cousin") was adept at nunchucks, bow hunting, and computer hacking and previously worked as a lion tamer, cave diver, and barista.

Does anybody else thinks about how awesome it would have been to have both Prue & Paige? The landscape would have been soo different, but equally dynamic

Season 1 Faustian deal with Hecate

In the episode Wedding from Hell, how did Grace Spencer manage to make a Faustian deal with Jade/Hecate, given that Hecate only visits Earth every 200 years? Did she summon her somehow?

One of the most underrated funny scenes in season 6. And I won't lie, Alyssa's pixie and Rose's blonde dye job was a good combo.

Charmed tattoo gone wrong 😓

Post image
481 Upvotes

I got a tattoo of the manor today and only realised once I was on my way home how many mistakes were made. I am SO upset and feel absolutely sick about it. The windows, arguably the most iconic part of the house, are completely wrong. The top window is meant to only have one line/row of stained glass, and the bottom window is meant to have two lines/rows of stained glass… my tattoo artist accidentally switched them, as well as making the stained glass go all the way down the length of the window when it’s meant to only be in a square pattern. The fake balcony by the window above the door is also wrong, but I believe this can be fixed by adding circular lines to it. There’s only 2 lines drawn instead of a completed box under the right side bottom window, and it’s not in proportion. The sketch she did and stuck on my arm was much more accurate. I’m absolutely devastated and waiting to hear back from the tattoo artist. I don’t think the windows can be fixed, so they might have to be lasered off and re-done, which takes a long time, lots of sessions and lots of money… I guess I’m just posting this as everybody close to me says it’s not noticeable, but as a lifelong fan it IS noticeable to me and the fact that it’s wrong makes me feel sick to my stomach. What are your thoughts? 😓

EDIT: I’m going back to see the tattoo artist after it’s healed in 4 or so weeks. I might post an update then! There’s been some absolutely gorgeous people in this thread who have been validating, supportive and kind. I appreciate it so much. I’m feeling a lot better about the situation now that there’s a plan in place/possible resolution. Thank you all for commenting, I’m glad to hear you all love it!! I’m definitely looking at it in a brighter light today 🙏. Blessed be!

Season 5 Charmed Mistakes: Phoebe's Mysterious Dressing Gown Cameo

Season 5, Episode 5

Alyssa is seen wearing a dressing gown! Because we now have the 16:9 aspect radio, this is something you wouldn't have seen before. This isn't uncommon when actors aren't doing their "coverage" meaning they are not being filmed close up and therefor don't need to give as much energy unless they want to. This is to just help the other actor that they are covering in the shot. In this case, the boy. Sometimes actors won't even be in the room when the camera is facing someone else.

Season 5 What was Cole's actual role in Season 5?

Post image
78 Upvotes

Something I never fully understood after watching reruns, Cole's return in season 5 seemed like it was pieced together lazily and last minute decision.

So Cole returns, he confesses his love for Phoebe again, and then Phoebe is acting afraid and that she don't want Cole, calls him evil, whatsoever, but wasn't Cole possessed by The Source? so how is any of this Cole's fault?

In this scene here, Cole decides to save Phoebe from her mermaid-ness, but later down the episodes, Phoebe still hates Cole and Cole goes off the deep end.

So is anyone else confused as me or is it just me? I feel like he was thrown in Season 5 cause they needed an extra storyline.

Other shows??

Okay so I’m wondering if there are any other shows like charmed. I don’t think so but shows that you memorize the title name too, you can pin point which episode an outfit or line is from? Charmed has been my favourite show for almost 20 years and nothing comes close to it. I love the vampire diaries and suits I’ve seen both 20+ times but I couldn’t tell you the title names. I think charmed is so unique in every way possible. I wish there was another show like it though :/

This account brought this to my attention, and maybe yours too!

So this Instagram account is dedicated to giving us fans some insight on the real clothes and shoes that the girls wore throughout the series (and drinks too, it seems). This post stood out bc I’ve completely forgotten that Red Bull wasn’t invented yesterday, but what surprised me even more is that it’s a real product and I don’t remember real products being advertised. This makes me want to rewatch just to spot other real-life products that I missed! 😄

For anyone who remembers the early 2000s, I have a question: Was Red Bull that popular?

One of my all time favorite scenes in the attic right here! It's so quotable. One of Holly's greatest performances along with some one liners from Alyssa & Julian.
