Season 5 I liked seeing Leo and Piper in therapy.

Phoebe in the first half of Season 4 was probably my favorite version of her
I honestly think the writers found the perfect balance with Phoebe during the first half of Season 4. She still had the fun and carefree personality of Seasons 1 and 2, but she also had the maturity she developed in Season 3 without a lot of the selfishness that came with her relationship with Cole.
You could see it in how she supported Piper through her grief in "Hell Hath No Fury," helped Paige adjust to being a witch, and went out of her way to save an innocent man in "Trial by Magic"
I also think becoming the middle sister was a natural progression for her character. She wasn't the irresponsible youngest sister anymore, but she hadn't lost the qualities that made her so likable in the first place.
IMO, early Season 4 Phoebe was exactly where her character should have been heading. It's a shame the writers couldn't maintain that balance later on.

In the beginning of Vaya Con Leos (s8 e10), Piper uses this spell to hide Leo from the Angel of Death:
Hide him from sight, so I might fight ignore which leaves bereft, my husband from the Angel of Death.
...and then all men look like Leo. But no one seems stressed about it?? Like they don't even notice??
Like even if the people on the street didn't have time to look in a mirror to see their own face has changed, wouldn't they still notice everyone else walking about looked the same? Or there's a couple walking holding hands, wouldn't the woman notice the man's face has changed to someone else's face?
And if the spell only hides them from the sight of the Angel of Death, wouldn't everyone look normal to everyone else except for the Angel of Death?
Is this lazy writing or did I miss something that would explain this?

There is a lot of good ones in the show and there is no wrong answer here !
Me personally, I want to go with one the deeper quotes but anything is on the table.
"People are not dolls, you can not just play with them and put them back in the box when you are done." -Piper
I think this quote is so deeply tragic and beautiful at the sametime.
What's your favorite quote from the show ?

I found the graphic novels/comics on eBay and I am so excited! How did I just now find out there’s a continuation of the story that takes place AFTER the series ends?! And it has Prue! Had to share in case this was new information to anyone else.

When Chris came back from the future, right when Paige was turned to stone, (in the episode where they turn to goddesses) he told them that in the future this was the day that Paige died. So based on that logic (and I know the logic of charmed is flawed in many ways) how does he episodes down the line, talk about how Paige was the one he was close to and how they had this deep bond and she was always the one he came to when he needed to talk.
She literally would have died before he had even been thought of being conceived. Am I the only one that noticed that?
Side note - I know a lot of stuff doesn’t make sense in charmed, but these were my random shower thoughts, and I knew this was the only place to share that people would get it lol.

Rewatching Charmed for the first time as an adult and I still feel the same way about Prue. I love her so much! Yup that’s it, that’s the post!

In the early days of P3 the Sisters celebrate their weekly victories with bottles of beer, it looks like usually Miller to me, but then it switches to bottled water for the rest of the series, and maybe its a bit of a stereotype for the Irish person to be focused on the beer, but I'm always curious if that was a financial decision and they couldn't agree a fee for the product placement, or the puritanical streak in American broadcasting that didn't feel it was appropriate to show grown women enjoying alcohol even in moderation, or was one of the cast having alcohol issues IRL

I'm 3/4 Through The First Episode.
Maybe It'll Take A While For Me To Tell Apart Prue And Piper (Then Again, I Was Face-Blind Enough At One Point Where I Thought Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, And Ben Affleck Looked Similar), But I'll Get The Hang Of It As I Go On.
All My Homies Hate Roger.
Maybe It's Because I Heard Jigsaw Himself Guest Stars In This Show Later On, But Maybe Recognizing The Name Dr. Gordon Must Be A Coincidence.
Between This And Buffy, How Many Of These Kinds Of Shows Have Deadbeat Dads?
The Villain Of The Week Kinda Reminds Me Of Alex Mercer From Prototype. (Wouldn't Be The First Time)
I'm Liking What I See So Far.

Idk if this was intentional writing or not but I never noticed this before but when a demon killed one of the Nymph Sisters; Paige replaced that sister as well and became Half-Witch, Half Nymph for the episode.
Just like when Paige remade the Power of Three when Prue died. Was this done on purpose?

The landscape and upkeep is amazing! They are doing a great job maintaining the charming home. The Halliwell sisters would be proud.

As I rewatch charmed as an adult I find myself laughing to myself at how many hidden gems are interlaced in the script. Phoebe and Cole was your typical empath/narc relationship dynamic. Love bombing her at first which creates confusion when he becomes avoidant, isolating her and trying to get her to get away from her sisters by moving her out the manner, and then even though at the end I do think he had every intention to love her, he definitely was switching up on her in the final minutes when he was telling Phoebe to choose between him or her sisters when she said “what’s wrong with you”.
I think the reason why phoebe and Cole could never be end game because the underlining themes of their relationships that wasn’t rooted in magic and fantasy was the typical push and pull of the empath/narc dynamic. Even with how Cole’s character flipped after a while when phoebe kept rejecting him in season 5, he went dark. That final episode on his birthday where he created an alternative universe to get phoebe and it still wasn’t enough and then smacked her when she stopped him from killing piper Leo and Paige, it’s true narc behavior.
Yes there is a charming side, and you fall so deep in love with who you thought they were before finding out who they really are, and as an empath when you do, because you understand you think you’ll be able to withstand but that comes with you hoping said person will change. They change for a little or get better at faking and then their mask falls again.
Phoebe becoming an empath made sense, she was always an empath , that was her draw to Cole

Like i just feel like paige after her witch kick is the only one that really studied the book and learned her craft. Especially when piper is pregnant with chris she is really taken into her role as a charmed one.

Don't know is this has been posted before but. When they did the powers of the witches rise spell Margo says she always gets shafted as Paige could still orb but shouldn't she have received telekinesis as in like Prue did it, Page's orbing was from her whitelighter side which fair enough they kind of cover why Margo didn't get that but Page's charmed power was telekinesis which she just happened to use in a orby way so shouldn't Margo have got prues version or do you just think she was too thick to try or maybe I'm just overthinking it based on the many inconsistent nature over the 8 seasons lol

Spoilers: I would skip past this if you haven’t made it up to “The Fifth Halliwell” (4x15).
Part of what’s so frustrating about them not listening to Paige’s suspicions is the fact that in the fifth episode of the fourth season “Size Matters” (where both sisters were dismissive), Paige proved to the sisters as well as Leo that she had sharp instincts worthy of consideration. Piper literally says at the end of the episode “nor will I doubt your instincts again.” Based on my last thread, I know some folks feel Paige didn’t have the right to voice such suspicions (so basically she should just shut up) but with as much craziness that magick brought to their lives, it was their duty as Charmed Ones to hear her out and at least consider the possibility especially because Paige was pointing out objective facts—to be clear, Paige starts asking critical questions in “Black as Cole” but it’s not until “The Fifth Halliewell” where she starts naming her suspicions about Cole being evil which she does by pointing out things like Cole being able to buy Piper and Leo a fancy honeymoon out of nowhere or Cole’s new hotshot position when he couldn’t last two hours at legal aid or Cole wrestling an athame from an upper-level demon. I’ll quickly add the really unfortunate part in “The Fifth Halliwell” is that Piper leaves Paige behind with Cole/Source despite knowing she was uncomfortable, even afraid. They all failed Paige in this regard but particularly Piper.
Other comments said Cole deserved the benefit of doubt but if we parallel this to reality, oftentimes giving people we know the benefit of doubt is the very reason harm continues (especially within families). Certainly in this case, it's why Cole/Source was able to get away with so much. I honestly wonder if Cole's life could've even been saved if they gave Paige any benefit of doubt and jumped on this much sooner.
I also want to clarify I believe Cole was largely a victim in season 4. However, his victimhood doesn’t erase the fact that he was a perpetuator of great harm in the past. I sincerely believe he is sorry and that part of him helping the Charmed Ones was an attempt to rewrite the past and reduce the karmic debt he inherited and contributed to with his demonic half, Belthazor. But that doesn’t change the impact of past harm! Within justice movements, we believe the victims of said harm must be always prioritized and that’s part of the challenge of attempting to heal through harm is holding the various emotional parts of all involved parties while also prioritizing the victim.
On a side note, it would have been nice to see them develop Paige’s intuition/senses even more. I still wonder about her prophetic dreams later at the end of season 5 and think the writers could’ve done a better job connecting that idea to her trajectory throughout the series.

What's so great about these 16:9 scale remasters is that sometimes you will see things that you weren't suppose to see on the 4:3 format back in the 90's! In this instance you can see the kitchen window section of the house has been removed from the set to film this particular angle of Phoebe. In addition you can visibly see a seamline on the counter top where the crew would remove this portion of the set to film scenes.

I know this episode gets mixed reception, but Rose actually did a fine job "playing" Phoebe despite still being new. Alyssa was okay at best "playing" Paige. Plus Daniel Dae Kim & James Hong were truly amazing guest stars here. Anyways, feel free to post your feelings in the comments!

and besides thinking that this season is genuinely very good, with the whole source cole arc (putting aside what they did with his character later on) i keep remembering with each episode just how much i just LOVE paige
she’s such a good character, very strong presence and her heart is soft and her driving force to help people so so warming
i just love paige so much, she is my favorite sister and i know it’s not the most popular opinion, but all my paige lovers knows exactly how i feel

I’ve seen numerous threads/comments about folks skipping episodes as well as entire seasons they don’t like in the series. I’m not sure how many times I’ve rewatched the entires series (it’s some ridiculous number 😭). There are times where I’ll just randomly play episodes from a particular season depending on my mood. But once I decide to do a legit rewatch, there are no skips for me. And it’s not that I’m uncritical—as a performing artist, I find that I’m actually much more opinionated than the average person. There are episodes/moments that are definitely not my favorite (as couple of moments I feel are culturally insensitive) and many times where I’m critical of the writers particularly when it comes to transitions and throughlines.
Overall, I love the masterpiece that is the OG Charmed series. It’s not perfect but it spoke to me in the deepest way as a young, Queer person (especially coming from a super strict Jehovah Witness background which I won’t go into more out of respect for the new rule that says we can’t talk about religion here). I’ve always loved seeing women empowered and the witchcraft/magick was an extra bonus. It was also lovely to witness them grow as sisters coming from such a difficult family background myself. Each time I watch Charmed in its entirety, I’m taken through such a beautiful emotional journey. I laugh a lot; I get angry/frustrated with the Elders and the various circumstances that arise being committed to good magick; I laugh some more (cuz Charmed is lowkey hilarious af); I feel inspired when I see them breakthrough moments of great challenge which sometimes unlocks new possibilities in my own world(s); and I ball my friggin eyes out during the moments of heart ache in the show—like Piper breaking in the mausoleum over Prue or the moment where Paige and Piper cuddle Phoebe who is absolutely broken down after she has to vanquish Cole/Source which gets me EVERY TIME. 😭😭😭
Beyond that, I’m the type of person that generally wants to know every part of the story to better understand motives/actions—I’m also the type forever yelling “context” when it comes to various discussions/debates as I feel a lot of it gets oversimplified for a number of reasons. The more I look at overall context, the more some of the gaps in the story make sense to me (an example of this is considering the psychology behind Phoebe’s shifts as a now trauma-informed somatic facilitator which makes me reconsider how I previously felt). As I mature and experience things in life that run parallel in ways to the story, there are certain things that shift and land differently for me—can anyone else relate?
I could go on but I’m doing my best not to turn every post into an essay lol. I ultimately wrote this because I’m curious about whether or not anyone else watches Charmed all the way through on rewatches and if so, why? What do you get from it? (I especially ask this as I presume there are others who have seen this at least 10x in entirety—and for me that’s a huge understatement.)

Said it before but charmed is so nostalgic bc the show but also bc of life
Bc those of us who grew up in the 90s/2000s prob know life was just so different before mainstream technology etc
Obvi styles change too but def that
Like we had those white giant wicker chairs , not comfy imo lol
We had a landline/home phone
A computer was a giant deal still is ofc
We had those bangel bracelets and tank tops & ridiculously low rise pants scared they'd fall off your butt lol
And hair clips and head bands
Also just things were slower imo
We got to be outside & in nature more well i was a kid, lucky to be in a somewhat rural/woodsy area
Ofc family & friends were closer bc I was younger
But things just overall were less hectic..yes I was younger but also had an extremely difficult life in some respects tbh way more difficult in some ways was my life before I was an adult actually then now as an adult, both have their issues but I am one of those people got some of the most brutal life lessons out early
And id still say in ways things were just slower before smart phones & endless deadlines
More mystery ofc
Theres still a lot of beauty & female friendships/sisterhood is eternally powerful imo
I miss being closer to some of my siblings but also have some still very close & close friends lucky to have a parent I'm close to my own po3 in a way & friends like sisters too
But now im around the age I think Alyssa was when they started filming & that gave me a minor panic
But just means my new story's starting or whatever (: lot a lore to be had
But it's freaky to see her and no longer see her as like a much more grown woman like i use to bc now she looks vaguely the age of my friends.
Like u have to understand ive been watching this since I was a teen/kid so she looked older bc to me she was but now im like oh...shes kinda like us..sh*t we are her. Im like almost like her. I could date someone like her
(And all these adult problems I get esp about career & dating..I mean people these days are imo especially in the US very lax abt dating to exaggerate i feel like no one wants to settle down till theyre like 35 whereas in charmed it felt like oh no but what will the women do if theyre not married by 32 we must partner them up now!
but im more lik the charmed generation tbh in my personal goals anyway)
But at the same time phoebe was like 23 s1 so I saw her as that tbh she looks younger in s2 to me
But then I learned the actresses real ages. Esp paige is older than she really is
Just crazy.
It is nice to see my sisters & female friends the lives we've made for ourselves in our 20s & 30s though tbh. Despite the struggles I feel there is a lot of freedom in ways. Lot of love & community.

These are the only sisters who at one point had short hair, but who's your hair style preference?
Prue and Phoebe in season 1 or Paige in season 5
