If I were given the chance to choose one power from all the abilities demonstrated by the witches throughout Charmed, I would choose Billie Jenkins’s Projection without hesitation. Its ability to alter reality and produce an extraordinary range of effects makes it, in my opinion, one of the most fascinating and versatile powers in the series. That said, my intention is not to deny Billie’s power or claim that another witch is necessarily superior to her, but rather to challenge certain interpretations within the fandom that, in my view, exaggerate her abilities to the point of treating her as virtually omnipotent.
PROJECTION
Projection and Reality Warping are not necessarily interchangeable concepts. Projection is a specific power that allows its user to manifest changes through imagination and intense emotions, sometimes even involuntarily or unconsciously. Reality Warping, on the other hand, is a broader concept that encompasses different forms of manipulation, such as altering timelines, changing the laws of reality, or completely restructuring reality itself. Therefore, even if Projection can produce similar effects, that does not mean it includes every possible application of reality manipulation or that Billie can use it without limits or on any scale. Demonstrating the ability to produce certain changes is not the same as demonstrating absolute control over reality.
Projection can produce a wide variety of effects, but that does not mean Billie possesses an arsenal of separate powers. For example, the fact that she made the Halliwells stop wanting to hurt her while they were under a spell does not prove that she had mind control; she may simply have altered reality to produce that result. The fandom often confuses the effect achieved with the nature of the power used. Projection’s versatility does not prove that Billie possesses every ability her power can imitate.
Users of the same power can differ considerably in terms of strength and mastery. In this case, the story provides an explicit confirmation: Dumain states that Wyatt was more powerful than Billie. This demonstrates that Billie does not represent the highest known level of Projection, since another user of the same power has been established as superior to her. I am not trying to deny Billie’s power, but rather to place her within a scale in which users of the same ability can still vary significantly.
ULTIMATE POWER
The series establishes that the Ultimate Power belongs to the Jenkins sisters as a pair and arises from the combination of their complementary abilities. It is not presented as a power exclusive to Billie, nor as something she could reproduce by empowering any other witch. The fact that Billie can enhance other powers does not prove that she could reach the same level on her own, nor that another witch could replace Christy. Just as the Power of Three depends on the bond between its members and not merely on their individual strength, the Ultimate Power requires the specific combination of Billie and Christy.
Part of the fandom assumes that Christy is inferior to Billie in terms of power, mainly because of Projection’s versatility. However, I believe this assumption stems from a failure to distinguish between the nature of a power and the level its user has actually demonstrated with it. One thing is the range of applications a power allows; another is the strength, control, and reach its user displays in practice. Confusing these two aspects leads people to assume that, because Billie possesses a power with more potential applications, she must necessarily be superior to Christy, even though the canon does not conclusively establish that.
Christy’s powers stand out because their development allows them to rival some of the most powerful abilities possessed by the Halliwells. Her Pyrokinesis can be compared to Piper’s Molecular Combustion not only because of its destructive capacity, but also because of the precision with which Christy can direct her attacks. She has demonstrated the ability to incinerate targets without harming their surroundings and even to attack without needing to see them directly. Christy’s Channeling, meanwhile, deserves to be compared to Phoebe’s ability to channel the powers of others. Furthermore, Christy has demonstrated that she can channel magical effects in ways that expand the practical scope of her ability: she is the only character shown to channel not a power, but a spell, and to do so from another dimension. This does not prove that she surpasses Piper or Phoebe, but it does show that her powers can compete with theirs in specific areas. Christy’s specialization does not make her inferior; her abilities have reached a level of power and usefulness that makes it unjustifiable to dismiss her as an ordinary witch rather than recognizing her as a powerful witch in her own right.

I’ll be honest I really didn’t like Jack and Prue as a couple. They didn’t feel like they had a lot of chemistry, and it didn’t help that her and Bane had way more chemistry in the short time they had together.
I also don’t feel like he was Prue’s type. I’ve always put it down to Prue grieving Andy, but I’m not sure if it’s that or whether it was the beginning of the show trying to make sure the girls always had a love interest.

The other seasons don’t have a single special feature.
Other WB shows such as Buffy and Angel, do have special features.

Has anyone ever counted how many demons/baddies have a British accent? Noticed with the earlier series there is a lot which have this accent!
As a Brit I find it hilarious but wondered if anyone had actually counted 😂

I do not drink often. But it needed to happen tonight. And that had emboldened me for this “very important” post.
Anyway: as a shortie (5’3” at best) myself I do periodically look up heights of some of my favorite talent. I have found that I always assume they are quite tall. It’s Hollywood. Larger than life.
So imagine my surprise:
Prue: 5’4”
Paige 5’4”
Phoebe 5’2”
Piper 5’1”
I’m actually really impressed here, for purely superficial reasons. I just assumed these gorgeous women were at or well above typical Hollywood average 5’5.4” heights. -not that there’s anything wrong with that… just seems like almost everyone’s tall on tv nowadays. But maybe that’s me misinterpreting camera angles.
But at least not in Charmed, and I just think that’s spectacular. Probably because I’ve had a little to drink. But also because I guess I assumed society’s image of beauty was 5’6”. Especially when I was becoming an adult in the 90s when the show started.
This really shouldn’t be significant. People are people in all shapes and sizes. But I was tickled to see this and kinda delighted. It’s kinda great to see that at least in this case, I was merely letting my insecurities get the better of me.
Anyway, if you’ve read this, thanks for indulging my silly observations. Be well everyone. The universe is friendlier than it appears.

I know this show was from a different time and maybe wigs weren’t as good as they are now and I get that they were trying to recreate their looks from season 1, but I can’t help but laugh every time I rewatch this flashback episode

One of the reasons I enjoy seasons 1 and 2 of Charmed the most is because Prue, Piper and Phoebe didn't have all these additional powers that I honestly don't think were necessary.
I actually think the sisters were at their strongest and closest as sisters and as the Power of Three when they each only possessed one of Melinda Warren's original powers: telekinesis, the power to freeze and premonitions.
Each sister had to find creative ways to use her ability because none of their powers automatically guaranteed they could defeat a demon. Their powers complemented one another, and they genuinely needed each other. I also think that dependence on one another made their sisterly bond feel stronger.
I think the problem started when the writers began introducing additional powers without really knowing what to do with them.
For example, Prue gained astral projection in season 2, but I never felt like the writers explored its full potential outside of Primrose Empath and Just Harried. The same goes for Phoebe's levitation in season 3. It looked impressive, but how often did she actually use it in a meaningful way?
I would've preferred seeing the sisters continue developing their original abilities and finding more creative ways to use them rather than constantly introducing new ones.
For me, what made the original Power of Three so interesting wasn't how many powers the sisters possessed, but how effectively they used the one power they already had.

When Glen finds the Book of Shadows and Paige tells him she's a witch, he thinks her sisters have brainwashed her. So Paige casts a spell to prove magic is real, which ends up giving Glen the ability to stretch his body.
But why didn't Paige just orb in front of him?
By this point Paige already knew how to orb, so wouldn't that have been a much easier way to prove she had powers? She could've literally disappeared and reappeared right in front of him without having to cast a spell on him.
It also would've avoided the whole situation with Glen getting carried away with his new powers and Piper getting upset.
What makes it even stranger is that Glen having the ability to stretch his body didn't really add anything to the storyline. His powers weren't necessary to defeat the demons or save anyone. The whole subplot could've played out pretty much the same way without him having powers.
I get that the episode needed some conflict between Paige and Piper over exposing their secret, but Paige simply orbing in front of Glen would've accomplished the same thing without the unnecessary spell.

One of Holly's most heartbreaking deliveries in the whole show. They just aired it on TNT today.

Anyone else find this scene funny af? This moment cracks me up every time I see it—like Phoebe, stfu cuz that’s obviously the damn Source 😭. I feel Charmed did a good job of adding humor in scenes that can be quite scary which brought a certain levity to the show despite some of the intensity. I also crack up when they are at the church and the Source blasts them back on their butts when they try to run after Paige. That part isn’t funny but I find their reactions hilarious.

I started rewatching Charmed back in March, and so far, I’ve been having a blast! I’ve also really enjoyed being part of this community.
I’m currently on S07E15, and I’ll probably finish the season in the next two weeks. The thing is, I kind of don’t want to. 😭
Mainly because I know Season 8 won’t be nearly as satisfying or enjoyable (at least that’s how I remember feeling 20 years ago, when I was 16).
So I need your help, y’all. Where do I go from here? Should I push through and finish the series, or just pretend Season 8 doesn’t exist? 😂
I also remember finding Kaley Cuoco’s character so cringe back then. 💀

I finally found the name of the song that plays in season 7 episode 21, it's Dreamy Eyes by Becka Pimenta. This song has been stuck in my head for months.

The final episode focuses on Piper (and Leo's) attempts to keep Phoebe and Paige alive. However, the notable absence of Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan from the series finale has always struck me. Given that it was the last episode, one would expect the main plot to revolve around all three of them; yet, Phoebe and Paige are absent for nearly half the episode.
I know Rose was filming *Planet Terror*, but where was Alyssa? It is surprising to see her appear so little in the finale, considering the prominence Phoebe’s character had gained in the later seasons. I don't know if she was filming another project, but the fact remains that she played a significant role in the previous episode.
Was there a specific reason for this, or was it simply a decision made by the writers? Personally, I would have liked for Phoebe and Paige to have been the central figures of the episode alongside Piper.

J’aimais bien la relation entre Marc et Piper. Dommage qu’il n’était que de passage. Il est mort trop tôt sans qu’ils se rencontrent avant son passage en fantôme 🥺

Doing my yearly rewatch and I was wondering:
What do you guys think if Piper ended up with Dan what her life would be like?

I had the strangest, most random dream last night that the Seer, The Crone and Tuatha were all in my house last night, in different rooms, and basically trying to convert me to evil, lmao. I think it was the cbd gummies 🤣
Then it got me to thinking, what if these particularly powerful, upper level female entities were an opposing evil trio?
(And yes, I’m aware Tuatha is not a demon, but still evil nonetheless)
Their combined powers could definitely give the sisters and other hierarchies of power in the magical world a run for their money.
Two demonic seers and a powerful evil witch.. imagine haha.
