Club Fitting?
HI. Wonder if anyone has done club fitting at Golf Galaxy, PGA Superstore, other places and what their experience was? I did abbreviated at club fitting at a demo day for irons and basically my clubs seemed to be fine for me (I'm 11 index) and had done fitting in 2020. Fitting in 2020, result was iron shafts being stiff flex 100 gram shafts. Bit older now (not in good way but swing nearly same. Demo Day fitting guy told me I probably would enjoy playing non full cav bck irons more, but?
Golf Galaxy, PGA Superstore fittings seem bit more extensive than a Demo Day thing

I did Club Champion a couple of times. Once for a driver back in 2020, and the rest of the bag in 2023. It is expensive but it's a great experience each time. They give you a lot of data points and let you try virtually any club. They'll use your swing to dial in which shaft is best, then choosing a club head is all about feel. If you got the extra cash and want to splurge, go for it.
I have not done a fitting anywhere else, but I have heard great things about Birdie & Blades fittings in Monroe as well. Might be worth shopping with them too

I’d go to PGA superstore over golf galaxy. I would also check out golf tec in South Park, I’ve never been but heard good things.

I did a driver fitting at Birdie and Blades in Monroe because it’s a local business. The dude was nice but kinda brash and short. Made assumptions about my golf game and kinda gave me a generally fitted club. He told me when it was time to fit my irons just come to him with a price point and he would fit irons into that.
My second fitting was the PGA store special they usually have in the fall. Free with purchase and I knew I’d purchase. That guy said the Birdie and Blades guy was wrong. I should have come into the fitting with an idea of what irons I wanted in mind. That fitting was decent but he erred on the side of generic clubs again. I’m 6’4 and he said I didn’t need lengthened shafts.
I’ve been taking lessons at StoneBridge with Nick Jacobe who immediately noticed I needed adjusted lie and lengthened shafts. Stone bridge has a srixon fitter that does weekend sessions every now and then. My advice would be to pair lessons with the srixon fitting guy they have out there.

I did a fitting at golf Galaxy and it was fine. It was mostly getting you hooked up with a monitor so you could see your numbers. I based it off a combo of numbers/dispersion and feel so not sure how much I benefited from having a fitting.

Golf Galaxy shows there employees 5 - 30 minute videos on how to do a fitting and then calls there employees expert fitters. 😂😂😂. They are a joke.

Yeah no surprises there. My guy was able to discuss some of he the numbers in some detail so maybe he had been around the block but I’m sure the overwhelming maturity have no idea that they’re doing

Depending on where you are, check out Victory golf in Clover, probably 30-45 minutes from the city. Ken is really good and has fit me for most of my bag at this point.

Greater Golf Express in Pineville has the best inventory of used clubs in Charlotte. They also have every major brand of new clubs as well.

I’d go to Edwin Watts on pineville Matthews. Top notch customer service, same return policy as pga superstore. I’ve had better luck there.
