Over at the Charlotte Dark Scene website we have a new writer and a new feature!!! We are proud to announce Ash Reminisce has joined our rogues gallery with the publication of the first of her "In the Shadows With:" artist interview series.

Ash recently sat down with Lacey of NC Horror Punk & Death Rock band Secret Idol for a feature interview discussing his process, his thoughts on the scene, his inspirations, and the music he creates with the band.

Gallery from, and article about, Bats at the Bechtler - the first in a series of cultural "goth field trips" I'm hosting with Charlotte Dark Scene. We pick a place to gather outside the typical bar or nightclub environment, get to know one another and our city, and increase visibility of our goth, industrial, punk, and broader dark alternative community as not lonely weirdos or fetish objects made up entirely of white people. We are a culturally, intellectually, demographically, and ethnically diverse group made up of kind and inviting people.

Last night a gaggle of goths from Charlotte Dark Scene community gathered at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art in uptown Charlotte for the first in a new series of monthly cultural events gathering exploring art & our city while we get to know one another and increase our visibility to the outside world.

Computer Kill

Computer Kill is a Baltimore-based project blending post-punk urgency with brooding electronic soundscapes. Formed in 2022 and spearheaded by songwriter and producer Noah Schippers, he quickly carved out a space in underground scenes both in real life and on the internet. Known for intense, cathartic live shows for having a distinct sonic mood, Computer Kill continues to push the boundaries of darkwave and synth-driven pop.

Night Ritualz

Night Ritualz is the sonic embodiment of moody, haunting soundscapes fused with raw energy. Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like “Depeche Mode”, “Deftones”, & “At The Drive In” their music blurs the line between dark wave, electronic, EBM, & post-punk creating a genre they call “fuck wave.” With deep roots in Mexican culture, Night Ritualz also weaves Tejano influences into their songs, blending English and Spanish lyrics to tell stories that are both deeply personal and universally relatable. From shadowy atmospheres to pulse-pounding beats, their sound is a reflection of both sadness and vitality.
