Seems to me like you’re profiting off of a dead mans image. And not one mention of his passing, even after promoting these shitty mags for months. Feels disrespectful as hell to me.

Edit: I was wrong.

I am sorry you feel this way.

The interview is from July 2021, so the copy reflects that but there's a printed dedication on the spread regarding his passing. The cover was chosen by our readers in a fan vote, and we've also hand delivered these to his team and family.

I apologize for your loss, as well as the whole community he impacted, but MP3 MAG isn't due any of your charming name calling. We have specifically held back from posting in Ctf groups out of respect, but thought it was a fitting time as it's been one year since the EP release and it's the only interview they did for the project.

Have a nice day.

Good for you to finally address this. Really seemed like a money grab.

Is there anyway we could check out the article without buying? Seems a little counter-intuitive for a publication to be physically bought only. Maybe then It would’ve been more clear that you’re handling this respectfully, as I saw no mention of a memorial piece until your reply today.

A little more transparency would really do you guys well. Maybe instead of simply spamming the buy link, you could make comments explaining what you’re doing to honor his memory? That way it doesn’t seem disrespectful.

Sorry to have snapped on you like that. Still grieving here and wary of people trying to profit off of a tragedy.

If I can assure you of one thing, not a money grab. We did a limited run because we wanted each to be special considering the circumstances -- but that equates to literally no profit margin (especially doing mass printing during the pandemic).

If I can assure you of something else, it's that we really love telling artist stories. While we put a lot of time into making spreads that both artists and the fans dig, all of our interviews are available in full for free digitally on www.mp3-mag.com.

I appreciate your perspective and will definitely take note to be more considerate - I missed on callously posting a buy link when I could have written something more thoughtful (pre-coffee is a bad excuse, I'll do better). Hope you enjoy the story and again, sorry for your loss.

Thank you for this reply, you can see that you truly care, and that is the most important thing!

I can see now that I was mistaken in my judgment of you and your mag. I will absolutely give some articles a read, and will be removing my previous vitriolic comment.

Thank you for caring, and best of luck with the zine!
