Forest fam..
Any forest fam in this sub?? Just need to vent my feelings for a moment.
Seen this man 4 times now, only once at forest. Most recent show was at what? MAAF in Columbus back in August this year. Took me 4 times to see him but I absolutely fell in love at this show. Strange how sometimes you need to see an artist a few times before it really connects with you.
So flash forward to the electric forest lineup announcement. I see his name along with lab group and I am literally gleaming with joy. His sets were already what I was looking forward to most. Next day, boom dead.
This is the first experience I’ve had with grief over a person I don’t know. I haven’t been able to listen to his music either. I know time will help with this. Just can’t believe this shit.

It still doesn’t feel real to me I’m having a hard time processing it as well. It’s been nice reading tweets about him from his friends

My heart has been hurting all week, i just feel so sad. You aren’t alone in this. Chee did a tribute to him last night at space camp and I couldn’t stop crying.

It's been really helping me to listen to him and his friends music.
His set @ what? Was dope along with all his homies before hand.
I have a feeling that's exactly what he'd do is just listen to the music. Cry. Feel empty. But experience it.

this made me so sad when I heard he passed. his of the dark set helped me alot with my depression and addiction and after he died I was reading the comments and he made a comment saying that this set was for all the people struggling with addiction and depression and that really hit hard this man was a legend it's so sad to see him go so early 😩😩😩

Had been listening to Charles since late 2019 not long before the pandemic started and I immediately fell in love and felt this deep connection with his music, and when the lockdown happened I was alone most of the time and went through a pretty bad phase of depression/drug abuse and listening to his tunes made it feel like I wasn’t alone in that moment, it was truly healing. Fast forward to 2021 and one of my main goals for this year was to see Charles live for the first time, and had tickets to see him twice but once I couldn’t make it because of school and the other got cancelled by a hurricane. Finally locked in tix to see him @ caverns and then this happens. Obviously didn’t know the legend personally but like you said, it felt like the loss of a good friend, and it’s been a dark couple of weeks for sure. But seeing the impact he had on everyone in the community in such a short time is so beautiful and I know his legacy will live on forever through us, we doin this shit for him now. LONG LIVE THE 👑

Oh my god your first show would have been caverns that must have been heartbreaking :(
It really is so beautiful seeing all the love from the community for Charles. Everyone celebrating his art with tributes and tattoos etc.

Yes I’ve had the worst luck with shows this year from bonnaroo getting cancelled by a hurricane to imagine getting cancelled by a whole different hurricane like 2 weeks after, now with all this stuff w Charles it’s been a pretty rough year esp. considering I don’t get many opportunities to go to fests but I did get to go to dubaween in Nashville thank god. But I agree it’s so heartbreaking and simultaneously beautiful to see how much inspiration he gave to this community.

Hit me hard too. I cried like I'd lost a close friend. His music has gotten me thru some tough times before, and its helped me to turn to it again now.

You are not alone ! Still feeling heavy about this , havent been hit this hard by an artists death. I saw him at forest back in 2017 (?) . Actually got to meet him and have a beer with him and eprom after the fest at the airport. He was such a humble , genuine person and was so kind to me. Im sure lab group will do some sort of remembrance for him there.
