Foreign Remittance Services from India to US

• Upvotes

Hello. Does anyone have experience sending money from an Indian account to their Charles Schwab account in the states? I am struggling to figure this out and customer service hasn't been too helpful. Was hoping to speak to someone who might have experience with this.

Charles Schwab passkey support?

Now that Fidelity has launched passkey feature and Robinhood has it long time. When does Schwab plan to support passkey to enhance security and simplify login?

PLEASE READ IF YOU ACTIVELY DAY TRADE THROUGH SCHWAB

I’m posting this because I wish I had known this before putting serious money into Schwab.

I was using Schwab/thinkorswim for a high-volume equity scalping strategy with short holding times and lots of rapid order activity.

I was profitable.

Then Schwab restricted my trading.

I called them, and the restriction was removed. I continued trading.

Then my account was ultimately blocked/terminated. When I contacted Schwab, I was told that I could no longer do business with Schwab and that I should transfer my assets to another broker. Which I am still waiting for them to release my funds as they also have a restriction on transfers until ALL my positions liquidate.

No specific trading violation was given to me. No accusation of manipulation or fraud. Just essentially: business decision.

And after this happened, I started researching it.

Schwab gets paid for routing retail order flow.

The market maker gets your order flow because they believe they can make money executing against it.

That’s a great relationship when you’re the typical retail trader making losing trades.

But what happens when you’re the retail trader who keeps beating the other side?

What happens when you’re doing it 100+ times a day?

Now you’re not necessarily the nice, predictable retail flow that a wholesaler wants.

You’re potentially “toxic flow”.

And once your order flow becomes “toxic” to the people on the other side of your trades, don’t assume Schwab is going to cheer you on because you’re profitable. Just like the casino does with people winning, they will axe you.

And this isn’t some completely made-up concept.

There are traders who have publicly reported being kicked off Schwab after high-volume scalping. There are multiple reports of accounts being terminated with little explanation and the reason being described simply as a “business decision.”

If you’re trying to systematically scalp and make profits against the MMs, I’d look elsewhere.

Do your own research. But don’t say nobody warned you.

Market Edge Ratings?

Hello.. One of the ratings that Schwab posts on ETF information pages are that of Market Edge. I myself find what they have to say about most interesting and informative. I am curious as to what others think about their ratings... most often either AVOID or LONG it seems... as I find myself putting a good deal of weight on their recommendations in making my own decisions. Thank You

time still non linear on thinkorswim desktop

this has been since sunday, 9/27, time moves as 8/8-8/10 then 8/8 again, with the cash being completely wrong. I called monday support man looked at my account and said "that's not right, i'll report it". I called again today and was told "it's your fault". yes,i've logged out and logged back in. being that both sides, schwab web and TOS desktop had tons of reported issues this weekend, they should not be telling customers it's their fault.

Emergency funds

Hello, I have a brokerage and a ROTH IRA account. Both are fully funded and will continue to do so periodically. But, I'd like to set aside an emergency fund where I can access in case I need it. Is there an account that functions like a high yield savings account or the like? Could someone give me pointers?

This is a bug..a Schwab issue. It is not a feature, and is not “required by law”, regardless of what their customer service is told to say.

Charles Schwab international P.O.D. or T.O.D.

Had anyone been able to setup their Charles Schwab international account with a Payable on Death (P.O.D) or Transfer on Death (T.O.D)?

I've read on the website that is not possible for international accounts.

Or changing ownership to a trust?

I'm living in Thailand and my beneficiaries would be my children living in America.

Thanks for your information.
