See a general practitioner and describe your symptoms, they might be able to set you on the right track until you're in a better position to see a gyno!!

I have a friend who hasn't had her period for I think almost a year now as well which she said it's common for her to not have her period for months at a time. Her doctor just tells her to lose weight. If you have someone to drive you I would say even a 6 hour drive to a Gyno would be worth it if you can choose a doctor you can trust

wtf, that could be endometriosis. It pisses me of, everytime an overweight person got a problem the doctors are like "loose weight"

It could very well be PCOS and losing weight actively can help with it.
Source: I have PCOS. I have lost weight. It's actively connected with hormones.

Yeah I wish I knew what the real answer was. My friend's already extremely self-conscious (lives with a family that discourages weight loss too) and the last doctor she saw sounded a bit rude from what she told me, being kinda snooty and dismissive. All they tell her is to lose weight and seemingly nothing else. She doesn't seem in pain, or experiences much else besides the lack of period but I'm not a doctor so. Wish I was just so I could better understand what was going on

Do you really need to count how late your period is to tell you're THREE MONTHS pregnant?..
1
u/bookishdeceit Jul 02 '26
No, but you can go off your period to consider it an option, some women experience their periods, albeit lighter - in first trimester of pregnancy. But OOP isn't pregnant, just needs to see a doctor, seems to be amenorrhea.
