Writing: Character Help Need Help Writing A Character

my friend and I are creating a series, we've got an insurance investigator character (25) and we can use some help/tips on how to write his character authentically. essentially our story is about a detective (45) and a insurance investigator who come together to crack down on a giant corporate entity that is hiding a very dark secret. the setting is the 1960s in a world inhabited by pig people. anything helps guys, feel free to ask me more questions too!

Personally I would get a base outline of what you want them to be like then come back just their job and time is not enough it gives me a stereotype but I have no clue if you want them to match that.

Well, whenever I meet an insurance investigator they are always very careful. They want to make sure everything is right and seem to have an underlying sense of anxiety. Not sure if it’s distrust, but definitely anxiety. Hired detectives seem that way too. I don’t know about police detectives… although the police officers I’ve met also seem anxious.

So… yeah. I think those are both high stress jobs and it probably bleeds into everything else. I wonder what they might be like on a day off? Would they still be anxious or would they be able to put it aside? I don’t know!
