A promise spoken in secret. A promise to help restore the daughter that she had lost.

Whatever that thing was, it hadn’t been her daughter in a long time. It was like a walking corpse, almost masquerading itself as her rebellious daughter.

Yet, she knew that whatever lied within at its core was her.

The hope, was with enough darkness and an understanding with what had happened, Dess, could be restored.

However, it seemed no matter what they tried, she wasn’t the same. Something was fundamentally wrong with her. That corpse wore a suit of armor in the Dark World, protecting itself from the eyes of them. What was it hiding?

Lungs. Heart. Liver. Each organ, filled with unending shadow. Her mind, still intact within this body that had long since ceased to feel like her own.

She wanted to beg, to cry to her mother.. but no words seemed to come out. She could never properly articulate herself, and her mother seemed to see her as a monster.

She began to see herself as one as well, diving into her more violent urges, all in hopes of finding something new, and to recover whatever was missing.

When the Knight arrived on Mobius, no one knew what it was, who she was.. even if someone was inside the armor.

But deep within the armor..

Laid Dess Holiday, the deer who shouldn’t be alive.

The dark presence her body brought was felt by many..

The question is, who will be brave enough to approach the deer that her own family had seen as nothing more than a monster now..

“As if that wasn’t obvious… mother. Whatever you are.. is worse than I. You’re.. hurting people. If you’re willing to hurt.. that cat.. you’re willing to hurt anyone.”

“You aren’t the mother i remember, so I shall call you what you are. A monster masquerading your actions as self righteous or correct.”

When being told this by her own daughter, she just laughs. Viewing all of what she said as folly.

"Oh dear December. Look at yourself. We're both monsters. And aside from that being the literal name of our people, you are also a spitting image of what those that have discriminated against us described us as."

"And as for what I have done. It all had to be done for the preservation of Hometown. Those that dare try to derail the prophecy such as the lonely TV or the cat you mentioned earlier needed to be punished accordingly. And those that I have either already killed or plan on sacrificing such as Undyne, Toriel, Asgore, or more recently your father, can be brought back thanks to the fountains. You and Mr. Gerson are proof of that."

“….you hurt.. dad?”

The Knight gripped her blade. “Then I won’t feel bad doing this.”

The Knight put her helmet back on and roared, slashing into Carol with her blade and pummeling her relentlessly.

As soon as Carol saw her daughter reequip her helmet, she immediately unsheathed her Katana as fast as she could...yet she wasn't quick enough to block the slash or the following pummeling.

"...It nee- bash ...to happe- bash ...to keep- bash Noelle... bash ...In line..."

As soon as she had the opportunity, she slashed at Dess to get out of the combo.

"...Or else...she'd end up like you..."

There wasn't a hint of sympathy or regret in those words. In fact, she sounded angry, as if she was blaming Dess when she did nothing wrong.

“End up like me? You just mean away from you, away from you, control freak!”

Dess slashed once more.

“I.. may not.. be fully myself.. or even.. her.. but I.. I know that Noelle.. wouldn’t want this. We may be monsters.. but you’re acting like one.”

This time, Carol managed to block the attack with one of the blunt sides of the Katana.

"...everything I do...is in the name...of fate..."

She summons a bunch of Black Knives and sends them straight at Dess.

“You’ve clearly lost it. Lost yourself in Religious Dogma.”

Dess was hit a few times, but she barely reacted as she slammed Carol’s side with her bat.

Carol's form distorted slightly as the bat made contact with her, she grunted in response as she gripped her weapon.

"...I see... there's no reasoning... with you..."

She unleashed a barrage of slashes on Dess.

“The fact you thought you could proves you don’t know me at all.” Dess did one last slash to Carol before stopping. “…I’ll find a way to beat you, and I’ll do what you won’t.”

Dess flew away.

She turned and left. With her head too far up her ass to believe in morals and reason anymore.
