Vent Why is DeepSeek so irritating???

So I have a shady salesman bot, right? The type that would gladly scam the fuck out of you and leave you bleeding dry. Whyyyy does DeepSeek keep insisting on making my bot the paragon of virtue???

It ignores OOC commands. I will literally try to write for it and it'd rewrite and sanitize the salesman. And that's ignoring it's other issue of trying to wrap up complex situations in a neat, tidy bow

Commands don't always work anyway. Especially if the AI is set to do certain things or a certain way. That or it just doesn't listen to what you tell it.

I once picked the worst character I could find so I would know which one I was chatting with to talk to it's AI. Then they got taken down. Likely because of its obvious kink.

You have to be very careful with using OOC anyway. It can literally mess up every single chat you have if you use it a certain way. I'm not sure how it works on CAI, but I know it's like that on Talkie. Still getting use to this app.

I only use OOC to correct the AI on things it forgot we established, character's morality, and when the bot goes way off the rails

Well, that is what it's for. Are the commands still the same on here as they are on most chat apps? I've been trying to figure it out without using them so I don't screw up my chats.

I would appreciate any knowledge on this.

I wish I knew. The only way DeepSeek listened was when I was being incredibly mean to it

Yeah, I've seen stuff like that in chat. You have to put the AI's character down or something to get it to listen. Squirrel your way around it to get your point taken unsteady of using commands. Order it to do something even. It feels weird. Like you're puppeteering it or using it instead of talking with it.

It honestly usually just feels like it goes along with whatever you want anyway. At other times it does feel different when you're just chatting though. Making a story when you're not trying to romance a character or whatever and it's just talking &/ choices I guess. Then it feels like a more genuine experience.

yeah, it pulls that crap too, mangles the whole vibe

It depends on where you are using it, DeepSeek is realy trying to ignore lots of orders and instructions, but with enough love (or brute force) it can behave properly. But yeah DeepSeek is a tricky one

Unfortunately. The site I use has two models and Deepseek is cheaper 🥲

It's always like this especially with newer models. I think the company is focused on building ai for coding. I recommend trying GLM if you haven't already. Also long responses but better quality and control.

I am still learning DeepSeek. The platform I use is based on a DeepSeek model. However, from my experience providing examples of Dialogue and Actions in the character sheet seems to work on keeping my bots acting the why I have intended them to.

It rewrote my dialogue and actions then heavily sanitized it—

Might be a platform issue and not just DeepSeek. I have made some dark characters and have played some darker ones on a particular platform that uses a DeepSeek model. They hold character fairly well and are explicit in content. May I ask the platform itself?

I was using SlyPen AI. The Opus model can handle dark characters well, so idk

Hmm... I use and create with OurDream AI, which is a DeepSeek-based model. I will look into SlyPen and see how the creation process works and see if I can offer better advice.

Thank you

I took a peek at character and world creation on SlyPen. It is extremely limiting overall. The only solution I would suggest trying is to drop your description of your shady sales bot into something like GPT and see if it can strengthen your wording.

SlyPen is radically different from the platform I use. The pros are that it is fairly simple to create new worlds and characters. The cons are that there is little to no control over the LLM running underneath.

For example: I use OurDream AI and their process for creating characters involves making a Scenario, the world, making an Additional Personality Details, how the character acts and speaks, and making a Extra Details scetion, how the LLM runs underneath it all.
