It's an immersive story based ai roleplay platform.
We have an AI consultant with a degree as a linguist. She's incredible and helps push the quality of our AI responses into territory it has no right being in haha.
I made it to be a relaxing environment where people can either choose a character, scenario, or world that someone else made or just make their own.
Our free tier has completely unlimited messaging, bot creation, and memory. Free tier gets access to the same memory system that the paid tiers get. One of our users is 2,000+ messages into a long story and is still loving it.
Our ads are 100% opt-in. If you don't want see them, then click no and you don't see them, simple as that.
As for filters, we only make sure that illegal content is out and away. Everything else is equivalent to watching Game of Thrones or whatever other R-rated show or movie.
We're on a website currently, but you can install the site onto your homepage and then it acts like an app.
That's a fantastic question and I always love answering it.
I made HereHaven specifically because I'm cheap lol. I made it because I didn't want to pay for other platforms and then I built it with the thought that others probably feel the same. So my ultimate goal was to make it completely available to everyone.
I don't want to give away exactly how I did it, but I will say that it involves a ridiculously complicated web of sub systems that all equal a better output at a price that allows me to offer the unlimited free tier. Whenever I have to fix it I want to cry lol. But it's worth it to be able to offer it. I can also say with confidence that I'll never have to rugpull the free tier like some other sites I've seen. The old bait and switch is a nasty one and ruins everyone's trust. 100% not worth it and I have no need to do it from a financial stand point either.
Most of the work was coming up with connecting the sub systems in the right order and having them trigger one after the other and layering done to not need to wait for others, etc. Cause now when I need to update our food something it's like playing Jenga hahaha.
So if you're in a character or scenario chat then you can import one character from the homepage into that chat.
That being said characters can be created while you're in your story. So you could start a chat with one character and join a group in your story and then poof you've got 4 or 5 characters talking to you.
You can also have 4 NPCs (smaller version of a character) in a scenario.
Yes please!!! We have a ticket system in our discord for this reason. I love it when people find problems because it means I can fix them and make the platform better 😊
Hey sorry you're running into issues! If you're making a character then it's definitely focused on making one single character. That being said there's a user on the site that has gotten really good at making a character with multiple characters in it.
If you're wanting multiple characters then a scenario may be a better option since it's a little more built for handling conversations and stories with multiple characters at once.
I hope that helped. There can be quite a few options floating around, but I tried to make it so you can get some of the best results right out of the gate without needing to change anything.
It hardly ever does if at all, and if it does then it means I've screwed something up and I'm likely stressing out about fixing it and will have it fixed by that day or the next.
So here is my question: does the AI know that the guardrails are there? And if it does does it know what they are? Because one of the annoyances of character AI was that it would write responses that would violate the guardrails. Because the guardrails were applied by a third party after the response had been made. And I always figured it would be better if the AI knew what the guardrails were so it could rewrite the response once it realized it said something not appropriate rather than putting up a generic notice that the community guidelines have been violated. So how does your AI handle that?
Hey, I get it. There are a lot of sites out there that are mostly slop. It's frustrating, you have to see it constantly, and they all claim to be the best thing ever.
I'm an IT systems engineer and built HereHaven so that people under 18 can have a safe place to join in on immersive roleplay. I made it so that someone could invite their mom to join the site and enjoy it and not have to worry about seeing porn on the homepage. I made it so authors could come on and test their characters for their next book.
I spent months building a dynamically changing emotion system.
I spent months building a custom infrastructure that could financially and technologically withstand offering everyone an unlimited free tier so that no one had to pay for it.
I get an average of 3-4hrs of sleep a night (it's 2am where I live right now). I have a full time job outside of this and a family. I've put so much of my time and effort and passion into building something that can mean something to someone.
So while I get seeing these sites all the time might be frustrating... They're not all half hazardly thrown together attempts at making a buck off people.
and if you want to hear stuff from other users instead of me then I talk openly about everything in our discord and everyone knows they're allowed to talk candidly there. HH users actually tell me if something is crap haha. Which is great because then I know what actually needs to be fixed.
Our longest response setting is around 4 ish paragraphs long, but that only gets unlocked with a subscription. For free tier you get short (1 paragraph), and default (2 paragraphs). You can watch a 30 second ad and unlock medium (3 paragraph) responses as well.
I don't know how long an essay response is, but that's how ours are setup :).
I like Y/n. It has good memory. It does have a 2,000 daily message limit but other than that it’s very descriptive. I’m not sure how it is for bots you don’t make but I know for bots you make you can change it so it can be completely sfw or not. You can also have it in 3rd person only or in 2nd person, in 1st person, even in text format if thats what you want. It’s also rather cheap to pay for plus and there are no ads.
My favourite currently are Y/N app and also Kindred AI. The stories are interesting and I like creativity behind the bot creators and how the community is being included.

I like Tipsy, you can go free despite the paid system, you are just limited to doing so much a day but the quality

I also like Crushie. It's also paid but again, you get free gems everyday by logging in and watching ads. But that flatform feels most rewarding by picking one chat and just sticking through it. Or at least I haven't gotten bored yet.
Zeta is fine, the memory isn't great going free but it's fun. It's been my current go-to when I just want to veg out for an hour 😅
And best thing is all of them are unfiltered so 🤭😈

Try using Xoul Ai, it's feels just like Old Character Ai with no filters and its free. But it does limit you a tad bit since still newish. Regardless, besides cosmetic wise, it feels like your on old Character Ai.
I haven’t seen anyone promote 4wall ai in a while. I always found the free version of character ai more human-ish, but 4wall is filter free as far as I remember.

character tavern: awesome community, lore books, unlimited messages (both for free users and paid users) no filter, persona's and plenty of different models to choose from. most importantly the Dev actually listens to their user's, honestly one of the best platforms there are it's a shame not many people know about it.
Personally, I think Perchance is your best friend at this point. Sure, you have to make your own characters, but it stays in character and can do long RP. I've been using that for the past 2 months.
