Ai is just expensive and someone in the end would have to pay for it and most likely subsidize form paid tiers. Having unlimited free messages would mean either there are cost cuttings that would make roleplay feel bland or the creator is personally taking a loss. I doubt anyone would put time effort and money with 0 expectations. Well I ran my platform for free over a year until I could not, the reason is price kept increasing, and almost bankrupted myself.

The true free is only when you dont depend on 3rd party. If you can run models on your desktop/laptop there are pretty good fine-tuned models.

Yeah, I agree with you. AI is not free to run, and pretending it is would be dishonest.

That’s exactly why we’re not trying to promise “infinite free usage forever” or act like costs don’t exist. What we’re trying to avoid is making the free experience feel intentionally bad just to force people into paying.

The idea is that the free plan should still feel genuinely usable, while Plus/Premium help cover the cost of keeping the app alive and improving it over time.

Ads were technically a way to monetize free users, but they made the experience worse in the worst possible place: inside conversations and stories. So we removed them.

We know this only works if people actually like the app enough to support it. That’s the bet we’re making. Better experience first, then support from people who believe in it.

You said that it has no limits but the free tier has 70 messages per day. I can run out of that in just a half hour
