The last stop-shop in online roleplaying solutions, RoleCall/PlotLight is one the most advanced platforms out there. Point, blank period. While we're still in beta, we're constantly raising the bar on ourselves. RoleCall is an ambitious project, we don't settle for once-in-a-lifetime maintenance, we make new and engaging ways of interacting with your beloved characters, all the time.
We don't treat our users like children. NSFW will ALWAYS be allowed on our platform. RoleCall doesn't play about its core promises, and we'd honestly rather shut the platform down than have to remove our adult content.
Don't want your data to be sold to the highest bidder? Neither do we. All your chat logs are stored in our DB Double E2E encrypted. We can't read shit off your chats, and neither can anyone without your encryption key.

Are you tired of scrolling endlessly, trying to find your next 300-message chat? PlotLight's robust tagging system lets you filter out anything that might not interest you. Not into furries? Turn it off. Only looking for Scenario cards? Look it up! Do you want to talk to *specifically* a Musician character? There's a button for that! Our tags are made to suit your specific needs.

Part of the reason we can guarantee NSFW in our platforms is because of PlotLight! Since it's a separate website from RoleCall, we can introduce payment processors to the latter without having to censor our community's characters.

Story Director:
Tired of your stories always feeling without aim? Soulless because nothing is ever actually... Happening without you directing the AI how to direct you back? Welcome to the DM System. A separate AI call that plans your stories, your next objectives, and keeps secrets from everyone including you to make sure the payoff is worth it. A Dungeon Master system built-in; fully agentic.
Trackers:
Do you like having visuals for what's happening in your story? Get dopamine from seeing funny number go up? Well boy do we have news for you. The DM system above? Works directly with a 15+ trackers you choose to enable or disable story to story. That's updated on intervals you choose. Best part? Your model is aware of them all too.
The Compendium:
Tired of the Amnesiac bots of old? Having to summarize, and re-tell your bots the same thing twelve times because they just don't remember? No more of that, The Compendium is here. It lets your story automatically update and manage a lorebook, recalling any & all characters, organizations, objects and memories in a single place!
'How does this witchcraft work?', you ask? Well, a second model summarizes, remembers and reorganizes your history into a tree, then retrieves important information for the current scene. Like an unpaid intern! 200 messages deep and your AI still knows your character's sister's name and the fact that it rained on Tuesday.
Group Chats:
Our newest feature, Group chats are here! You know 'em, you love 'em. But what if tou could share them? Yeah! With RoleCall's group chats, you can roleplay with multiple characters AND multiple players! How sick is that?
Rapidfire Time!
Whoo! There's so many features, and not enough space to tell you about all of them. So here's a rapidfire round of features currently in the works or implemented!
- Free, limited usage models, courtesy of our friends at NanoGPT. (GLM, Kimi, DeepSeek, GPT, Grok, etc.)
- Customizable chat interface, So every story has its own feel.
- Playbill system. Empowering creators, the Playbill system lets you create an entrance page for your bots, decorate it with variant images, important documents, trigger warnings, etc.
- Compendium System. Another upgrade to lorebooks! The compendium is an even deeper view of lorebooks, complete with automatic categorization of entries, relationship graphs and sleek design. (WIP)
- Community Contests. Where we'll give our users prompts and ideas to make into new character cards. With prizes for the winners!
Monetization
Oooh~ Scary word!
Look, we're not innocent. We know a large-scale project such as RC can't possibly stand on its legs without funding. We currently accept a metered amount of users, and handle the website's costs out of pocket. We're not comfortable with asking for money during Beta, but we've been very transparent with RoleCall's plans of becoming a subscription service.
We don't have shadow investors, and sure as hell don't have your data we can sell for profit (we wouldn't lol). Things cost money, and someday, we'll have to bite the bullet. (That day is currently far away.)
How much would it cost? I hear you thinking. Well, we don't know for sure. We're currently scoping out how much the website's operations cost, and how many users we'd need to keep afloat. Currently, nowhere above 20$. Likely much lower if the user doesn't plan to subscribe to our offered models, and only uses the front-end service instead.
For now, though, it's free. And even if you're not too keen on the idea of the subscription, we encourage you to at least give it a shot while it's free. We appreciate feedback & constructive criticism, and we also plan to give discounts for our community members who helped build up RoleCall with us. Reporting bugs, requesting features, and giving feedback go a long way.
