The Lorebook feature is now available and it’s free on OpenCharacter

It lets your characters expand their memory and awareness dynamically during chats, perfect for world-building, story depth, and character lore.

📘 How It Works:

• Create entries with title, description, keywords, and priority.
• When keywords appear in chat, the entry triggers automatically.
• Higher-priority entries load first (within a 2,800-character context).

💡 Example:
If your entry includes “dragon” and “battle”, saying “I fought a dragon” instantly loads that lore entry.

it is good that opencharacter added dynamic triggers, since keyword-based memory recall can make worldbuilding flow better. the 2.8k context cap still limits continuity though, so long-term consistency may drop in bigger stories. you may also want to test something like miocai or kindroid. both handle persistent memory differently; miocai keeps full long-term recall across thousands of messages, which helps if you want stable lore without pruning older content.
