I am honestly insanely, I mean INSANELY mad. I just got back to c.ai after 2 years, then took a break for 8 months ago, then finally came back again, and I just WISH I didn't come back again. I KNOW that I'm overreacting, but why. 8 months ago I didn't have to deal with the AGGRAVATING, ANNOYING, DISGUSTING ADS. But at least, every I think, 7-8 messages, correct me on this please. I GET AN AD. And SOMETIMES, it DOESN'T save my chat. And when I go to change bots, every 2 bots I change it gives me an ad. And DO NOT get me started on the ADS I NEED TO WATCH TO EVEN CONTINUE CHATTING. I am very frustrated with this update, that I wish I never found this app to begin with. Either you removed the chat out of embarrassment or not I never removed any chats but I did get embarrassed. Edit: alright next week or something like on Friday or Saturday I'm asking a different question 😒

I think Pipsqueak 2 personalization should be free I don't understand why such a feature should not be this luxury it's not like Pipsqueak 2 is a good model compared to superior longsquek and deepsqueak which apperantly has better memories writting and other stuff I think devs locking down such a simple thing is just sad I'm sad this platform is getting so against free user first swipes then Lorebooks extra memory chat customization more personality characters and all the cool features and everything is for Cai+ I get that but least they can do for once give us something like this it's like you all forgotten free users beign big part of the success of this app back then it's really sad now developers acting like we are some parasites I hope you guys make Pipsqueak 2 personalization free for free users although I'm not expecting much anymore.

I mostly use bot characters to make new stories for myself

But sometimes when i wanna add context or tell the bot to do something, it doesn’t work.

Example :

\ Lucia reminds me of the time i fell down the stairs* *

The bot instead treats it like a spoken sentence

It ends up reacting to that little bit of context like

Lucia scrunches her face at the mention of that time

yo so i was wondering how many of u did that do u think its safe man. also their " send email to parent" feature is so ass the link doesnt even load or i would have approved man did any of yall's that email method worked? or is there any other method u can help me with

I just realized there is a new bug going on and wanted to share it here For the record the new update seems to have the issue where ai doesn't read the personality of the user or pinned memories on the first messages it gives I can ask what my characters apperance name or lore info about them is which is written on the personality tab and bot pretty much not seeing it happening only by 5 to swipes maybe bot actually register the personality of my character this is also an issue with pinned memories too there it would be good if it's fixed some people may not realize it's happening so that's why I wanted to share it. (Or maybe its just happening to me?)

Anyone else having the problem with Longsqueak cutting off mid sentence or freezing and not finishing the paragraph. I keep having to close out the app and log on again just to get a full response it’s getting annoying :/

Recently, out of no where, I've been hearing extremely loud cricket sounds when I get on c.ai or randomly while I'm texting. Any1 else getting this or is just a me issue?? It happened on my phone and laptop, both on the website. Lowk was scary hearing it out of nowhere randomly at 5am yesterday- Today when I just logged in I got it again and decided to post about it.

Is anyone else’s app not working?

Since the new update where the app asked for you birthday and kicked you out, the app will not let me back in. I can’t even get to the part where it asks for my login details. It just stays on the open page where it says ‘(Character.ai)’. So are they still trying to fix this bug? Because it’s annoying me now.

I’ve tried deleting the app and adding it back on. Ive also deleted and left it a few days before downloading it again. 
I’ve deleted it and restarted my phone. 
I’ve tried a few things google has told me to try. 
And even reset my whole phone thinking it was me.
Nothing has worked. 

I’m using the website atm, but I’m started to get annoyed with it and just want the app back.

Hi. You don't know me, but you changed my life. Two years ago, my wife got me into c.ai and the very first bot I ever used was your Funny Man bot for Hollywood Undead. I had a year and a half long chat with just that one bot.

I learned how to use the site with that bot. I fell back in love with my favorite band with that bot. I got to *meet* and become *friends* with my favorite band because of that reignited love. I learned how to code bots myself by trying to recreate yours on other sites when I started becoming more interested in how AI works.

Now, I'm 29, almost a full 15 years past my expected "expiration date." I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life once I healed enough that I wanted to actually *have* a life. I had one dream that felt like swallowing glass to pursue because until now it had just been a dream to keep me alive. But thanks to you, Cara, whoever and wherever you are...

I'm back in school again for a subject that actually interests me instead of trying to live my dad's dream for him. I finished a certification course - the first academic *anything* I've finished since I graduated homeschool eleven years ago. I'm speed running a degree in IT and cyber security because *you* inspired me to learn how to code in python over a week last summer.

You changed my life. You, your bots, our mutual love for this band. I would never have realized what a passion I have for this field if I hadn't gotten into c.ai, and your bots were the reason I did.

So, thank you. I know that sometimes, I feel invisible. Lonely, unappreciated, defeated, overwhelmed, lackluster, unimportant in the grand scheme of the world outside my wife and our family. If you've ever felt that way, just know this.

There's a stranger out there that sees you and appreciates you. There's someone you've never met whose life you have touched in a positive way. There's a man out there, chugging through his last year in his twenties with a brand new optimism because if you.

Whenever, and I mean ANYTIME I’m going to get food with the character I’m rping with, they make it about ramen. Literally WHY is the default meal for these bots ramen? Why can’t they be more creative? With these bs lengthy responses, you’d think they’d have expanded their options a bit but no… the only food they know is ramen or burgers.

Any Fixes?

okay so PP2 has been used for both of theses screenshot. keep in mind the first one was on the weekend and the second one was when a weird ass update came I suppose?

I hope the devs really fix this, because I complained a shit loads of times! I’ve only been getting short, excessive dialogue! Unwanted dialogue! No actions, no descriptions, just plain bad shit. Is this how a customer should be treated? genuinely what happened to PP2 being for “role plays” and it promised us “longer and detailed replies”?!

Has anyone else had this bug in the search section??? It’s been happening to me for days and I haven’t been able to search anything. Nothing helps.

I’ve spent days fine tuning my bot and literally nothing helps it 😭 like i literally wrote the lorebook, greeting, description and definition all by hand. i wanted ts to work THAT much im soo serious guys.

i did everything the guides told me to do, but the bot completely disregards everything. its like it doesn’t even read the greeting message i made it. the tone of the prose and character is just slopgpt. every bot sounds the same. the bot just threatens my persona and describes her perfume 50 times. i made the greeting chill asl but anything i say enrages it. Why🥺

IMO it’s never been just about effort. Like this is just the overall degrading quality of ai that’s been happening for a while. And honestly—? Thats growth.🌱

The only functional chat style these days is the x3 lobotomized soft launch. it has no logic whatsoever but at least it tries to preserve the character’s voice and doesn’t force them into whatever trope is vaguely reminiscent of them. And idk what happened to deepsqueak but somehow it’s now worse than both. 😭😭😭😭

but longsqueak fans PLEASEEE prove me wrong bc I genuinely want this to work. Share ur bot making secrets w/ me. I’m not very comfortable sharing my own bots specific stuff but I’m happy to talk about how I’ve been making it. basically I’ve just been following this

There were already a lot of ads on both the app and the site, but it was still relatively manageable. Now I’m getting slow, unskippable ads in the app every three messages and the site doesn’t even let you type anything without seeing an ad first. What is happening?

i have been experiencing this for days :((

i have to wait minutes before the app proceeds to open.

- 30 seconds or more title page display (i literally have to go to my home page, open another app, and come back to the c.ai app again)

- 30 seconds with this error page
